Story Overview and Setting
The series unfolds in a future where humanity relies on an AI network, Sapientia, to govern and manage life on Earth. The system maintains peace by sending criminals and polluters to the Moon as part of its lunar development project. However, the project inadvertently creates poverty and inequality, which leads to tensions and eventually sparks a rebellion on the Moon.
Jacob “Jack” Shadow, who tragically loses his family in a terrorist bombing orchestrated by the Moon’s rebel army, becomes entangled in this growing conflict. Motivated by revenge, he joins the Earth army as a scout and on a perilous journey to the Moon. There, he discovers a surprising leader within the resistance forces, which shifts his perspective on the conflict.
The anime stars Chiaki Kobayashi, best known for his role as Gabimaru in Hell’s Paradise, as the protagonist Jack. Yuto Uemura, famous for his role as Atsushi in Bungo Stray Dogs, voices Jack’s childhood friend, Phil Ashe.
