We all know about classic movie monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and the Mummy. They’ve been scaring people in movies for a long time. Over the years, there have been new versions and spinoffs of these monsters that have excited audiences.
The first Universal monster movie was Dracula in 1931, based on a play from 1924, which came from Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel.
Vampires have inspired many movies over the years, from scary ones like Interview with a Vampire to more fun ones like Twilight.
There are a lot of vampire movies out there already, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t new ideas. Vampires can be in all kinds of movies now, not just scary ones.
Vampires are said to be immortal, so they can exist in any time period. Dracula Untold and many other movies show vampires in both olden times and modern times.
Now, there’s a new version of the 1936 movie Dracula’s Daughter coming soon. Get ready for some vampire action with Abigail. Make sure you have your garlic and wooden stakes ready!
Abigail’s Release Date And Where To Watch
Abigail will be released on April 19, 2024, almost 88 years after “Dracula’s Daughter” was released.
At first, you can only watch Abigail in theaters. How well it does there will decide how long it stays in theaters before you can watch it at home.
Sometimes, movies are available to rent or buy online while they’re still in theaters. So, Abigail might be on streaming platforms like Peacock by late May. After that, it’ll be on Amazon Prime Video.
Plot of The Movie
Like The Invisible Man from 2020, Abigail is a new version of an old movie, Dracula’s Daughter, but it’s set in today’s world. But there’s a twist: instead of an adult woman as the main character, Abigail is about a young girl.
Some people kidnap Abigail and ask for a lot of money from her rich dad. They think it’ll be easy to keep an eye on a 12-year-old girl. They take her to an old but fancy house and plan to wait for the money.
But they don’t know that Abigail is actually a vampire. She’s really strong, and they can’t get away from her. One of the kidnappers tries to be nice to Abigail, but she shows her true self soon after.
The kidnappers have to fight to survive because the house turns into a fortress, trapping them inside with Abigail.

The trailer starts with the music from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, which fits well for a vampire who’s also a ballerina.
