Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passed away from a heart attack at the age of 48 on Friday night, leaving fans, family, and colleagues of the Tamil film industry in shock.
“Daniel Balaji complained of chest pain yesterday,” said media reports.
He was swiftly taken to a hospital in Chennai’s Kottivakam. Despite the best efforts of a medical team, Balaji couldn’t be saved.
His body has been moved to his residence in Purasaiwalkam for the final rites.
Daniel Balaji began his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s incomplete project, ‘Marudhunayagam,’ as per a source.
He ventured into television, notably starring in Radikaa Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithhi.’ His portrayal of the character Daniel in a TV series earned him the moniker Daniel Balaji.
The actor was renowned for his portrayal of villainous characters. Balaji delivered memorable performances in ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’.
His repertoire includes roles in ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ with Ajith, ‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’ with Simbu, ‘Bairavaa’ with Thalapathy Vijay, ‘Vada Chennai’ with Dhanush, and ‘Bigil’ with Vijay. His final appearance was in Ariyavan in 2023.
Daniel also showcased his talent in a few Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.
