Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, chosen by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the No. 90 overall pick, faced a setback in his rookie season as he didn’t play a single snap due to a preseason torn ACL. Despite the adversity, the 23-year-old is approaching his second year with increased motivation.
Describing his mindset after the injury, Overshown stated, “More hungry.” He expressed a strong determination to unleash the excitement that was building up in his first year, emphasizing that fans should expect a performance surpassing what was glimpsed the previous season.
“He assured that the ACL injury would not serve as an excuse, asserting, “I’m gonna be ready to play and [fans] should expect that.”
Providing an update on his recovery, he mentioned, “We’re ahead of the curve. It’s just a process. … This isn’t what my rookie year was supposed to be, but you get up and you do it every day.”
Given the Cowboys’ linebacker injuries in the previous season, the return of Overshown could prove valuable in bolstering the team’s defensive depth.
