Jeron erased his identity in the previous chapter. Readers are curious to find out how Russel would deal with Jeron’s disappearance in Dragon-Devouring Mage Chapter 45.
Everyone kept pushing together, but unfortunately, the spells were not working. The mage informed everyone about spatial disruption, it was one of the most powerful protective barriers.
Everyone was confused as to why there was a spatial disruption just when they finally found the gate to the ruins. The mage decided to send a report to the archduke, and Russell found out there was a way to breach the barrier.
The old man told others about the relic from the era of the gods was in the spear tower’s possession. They could penetrate through the barrier and pass through.
But the old man doubted that they would give up something so precious so easily. That’s why he planned to go there personally, the old man told him if he sorted out the issue.
He promised to repay him for his favor as a representative of the yellow tower. Russell assured him he would get back as soon as he could.
The mage explained that, although it was against his will, he was indebted to both of them. Russell told the mage he did not have to be indebted and assured him that everything would be alright.
Since Allen Page was gone, they were left with only one mage. Russell decided to discuss duty rotation with Jeron for the night watch.
Jeron told him he would go there first because he was tired so he decided to get going first. Russell and the other mage noticed that Jeron had a very creepy smile.
Meanwhile, the guards who were standing outside the place, which was under the jurisdiction of the Yellow Towers, got killed by intruders.
Jeron informed everyone there was a change of plans, a spatial disruption had appeared in the area where the ruins were being guarded.
To bring the artifact that could break it down, Allen Page was headed for the spear tower. To blackmail him, they simply needed to take Spiegelman as a hostage.
The intruders were wondering about the guy who had called the divinity of the flame tower. Their leader considered that kidnapping was quite lame.
Meanwhile, Jeron suggested the intruders kill the divinity because they did not want to tolerate mistakes like last time.
Recap
The robot told Jeron a lot of nagging was coming from an outlooker. The archduke warned Jeron that he was not on the same side, so he could not do that.
Jeron mentioned that the thing Blaines cherished was finally there. but explained that the illegitimate child was not allowed to get hurt.
Jeron told him that was surprising because he could not even joke around with them. The intruder reminded him he should open up his heart a bit, like those dead guys.
The intruder told Jeron that there was no way that it would happen, but he was afraid that things would go wrong.
He reminded Jeron not to forget about that object the archduke had given him. The archduke had already told Jeron he had to live as a ghost once the mission ended.
Because the archduke had to ascend the throne, they did not want a single survivor to return from the expedition.
But he thought about using the object the archduke had given him when matters got worse. The archduke was wondering if Jeron did not want acknowledgement from him.
The archduke told Jeron that he was going to believe that the archduke would not fail the mission. After completing his mission, Jeron decided to become a ghost. Jeron decided to spread fear and despair as a ghost.
