In an interview with 4Gamer, marking the imminent release of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, producer Kenichi Hashimoto detailed the utilization of the RE Engine for the new remasters.
Addressing the potential for leveraging the acquired knowledge in RE Engine to develop another game in the Ace Attorney series, Hashimoto was prompted about the prospect of remasters for the two Ace Attorney Investigations titles, mainly played from a third-person perspective.
In response, Hashimoto mentioned he had no specific comments on that matter.
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is set to launch on January 25, encompassing the fourth, fifth, and sixth main games in the Ace Attorney series:
1. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
2. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
3. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice
Released on DS in 2007, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is the fourth installment in the Ace Attorney series. Departing from its typical protagonist, Phoenix Wright, who, at this point in the series, has lost his attorney’s badge, the game introduces a new character, the up-and-coming Apollo Justice.
Launched on 3DS in 2013, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies takes place one year after the events of the preceding game. Players assume control of three distinct attorneys – Apollo Justice, Phoenix Wright, and Athena Cykes.Ultimately, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice made its debut on the 3DS in 2016.
The game follows Phoenix Wright’s journey to the Kingdom of Khura’in, where defense attorneys are not employed, and courts rely on a mystical vision known as the “Divination Séance.”
“There’s nothing I can tell you at the moment”, Hashimoto replied, “but we’ve certainly gained knowledge about making adventure games with RE Engine.
“However, Ace Attorney will never end as a series, so in that sense I hope you’ll look forward to hearing more news.”
As the most recent main installment in the Ace Attorney series, Spirit of Justice completes the collection. Players who acquired the 2019 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy can now possess the entire six-game series with this latest compilation.
