Making a new season for a limited series would be a unique thing, but still, Ingelsby has expressed his interest in doing another season of Mare of Eastown.
While expressing his interest, he said that if they could crack a story that could be as great as season 1 was, then it would be good because it would do justice to the characters and would help to carry out the story in a way that was organic and surprising. and added, “I would love to do it.”
Ingelsby said, “I just don’t know what the story is; that’s the issue right now,” to TVLine. Winslet has also opened up about her character of “Mare Sheehan,” explaining how hard it was for her.
She said, “I can’t just go, ‘Oh yes, let’s just do it again.” It is like a ‘colossal commitment’ for the actress, as the character has taken a huge amount of her.
But Winslet is still ready to play her role in Mare of Eastown again, as she said, “I know I would do that again; it would have to,” because she is willing to give people what they want from her, and she thinks that ultimately, they deserve to see their beloved Mare Sheehan aka Kate Winslet.
Further, the actress also shared how much she misses her character even though it’s a strange thing, she feels as if she’s been mourning. The role of Mare Sheehan was an ‘absolutely wonderful role’ for her.
She thinks there’s something very addictive about the character, maybe because of how outrageous yet lovable and brilliant she is. She also said that for now, “we will have to settle for hearing Ruffalo’s Philly accent.
