The Mistress Runs Away Chapter 65 opens up with Rowena, Cecilia, and Killian having dinner together. The dinner soon becomes a bit awkward as both Rowena and Killian don’t want to talk to each other. Cecilia tries to break the silence by asking Killian if he has a favorite dish. Killian replies that he likes oysters, and it’s even better if the oysters are eaten somewhere near a beach.

Killian further adds that the fresher the oyster is, the better it tastes. Cecilia doesn’t know much about oysters, but she still appreciates Killian’s words. Meanwhile, Rowena gets furious at Killian because she thinks that he’s making fun of her by bringing up oysters.
Killian asks Rowena if she also has a favorite dish and Rowena coldly replies that she likes everything except oysters. The mood changes back to being awkward and so Cecilia tries to break the silence once again. Cecilia asks Killian about the duration of his stay.
Killian replies that he will stay for about 6 months but the duration could change if someone had a change of heart. Rowena gets annoyed by Killian’s repeated taunts and so she decides to leave for a bit. She tells Cecilia that she’s going to the powder room and leaves without asking for Killian’s permission.
Rowena sits on the floor of the powder room and tries to get a hold of herself. She reminds herself that Killian is just meeting her for business purposes and that any affection shown by him isn’t going to last long. Rowena thinks that it would be better if Killian fell in love with Cecilia.
Rowena tucks her head between her legs and wonders why is she feeling sad thinking about Killian being with Cecilia. After a while, Rowena decides to return to the table but as soon as gets out of the powder room, she finds Killian standing there.
Rowena asks Killian why he’s standing outside the room and he replies that Cecilia already left the hotel. After all, she was feeling sick so he decided to check up on Rowena because she hadn’t returned for quite a while. Rowena couldn’t believe that Killian was worried for her so she prepared to run away if Killian tried to do something to her.
Killian asks Rowena if she’s afraid of him. He gets a bit closer and tells Rowena that he likes the way she’s now but he’d prefer to see her the way she was before. Killian says that he thought Rowena would have changed during all this time but she’s still as war and fearful as ever.
Rowena pushes Killian away and tells her that it was him who chased her all this time so he has no right to pretend as if he knows her. Rowena then requests Killian to let her go home as the dinner is already over now. Killian replies that Rowena can go home after stopping somewhere first.
Rowena agrees with Killian but deep down she blames herself for agreeing so easily, she wonders if she should have just run away. Killian and Rowena soon arrive at the place said by Killian. Rowena gets out of the carriage and finds that she’s in the old castle ruins which is the only place from where anyone can see the entire city.
Rowena looks at the beautiful scenery ahead of her and says that she never knew that such a place existed. Killian says that this castle was fairly small and so it took only 10 years to build it. He further adds that despite the destruction of the castle, it’s still beautiful after centuries.
Killian tells Rowena that they were together for only 3 years and in those 3 years he never got to know her. He further adds that only after Rowena left him, he started to realize her value.
Killian then points towards the castle ruins and says that he knows that the scar he gave Rowena is just like the centuries-old damage on this castle but he would still like to get back with her if possible. Killian tells Rowena that he knows he’s late, but he would still like to know if she’ll accept his apology.
