A new TikTok trend started around 16 January 2024, according to which people keep ‘her’ photos in their wallets wherever they go. It goes according to a piece from the song, Cupid’s Chokehold, written by Travis McCoy, Rick Davies, and Roger Hodgson.
Accordingly, TikTok users began sharing videos showing the photos of their loved ones in their wallets, and Yuto is no exception. A Japanese singer, songwriter, rapper, and composer, Yuto Adachi, recently came into the limelight after following Cupid’s Chokehold trend on TikTok.
Yuto is one of the ten members of the South Korean multinational boy band Pentagon by Cube Entertainment in 2016. The band is made up of five elements: talent, vocal, teamwork, mind, and dance.
Yuto is one of the celebrities who keep in touch with their fans through social and trends. He vanished after splitting from Cube Entertainment and cleverly used the trend to come into the limelight.
Yuto’s Journey In Pentagon
Yuto became the Cube trainee in 2014 after clearing the ‘Cube Star World Audition.’ He became the official member of the group after his debut performance with the other band members in July 2016.
Yuto co-wrote a sentimental song, Violet, for a special video and the group released it in November 2017. Yuto was reportedly interested in sports, especially soccer, in his childhood.
Yuto was attracted to K-pop after watching Girl’s Generation and TVXQ on television. Being Japanese, he studied Korean in school. Currently, he is the lead dancer and lead rapper in the group and has a low-tone voice, especially during rapping.
Besides performing for the Pentagon, Yuto co-hosted a TV Tokyo program in early 2023. Meanwhile, the Pentagon became the ambassador of Korea’s Red Cross Youth and Korea Copyright Protection Service.
Cube Entertainment’s CEO suffers from ALS. Thus, the agency donated over $44,500 to a related hospital to create awareness regarding the disease in September 2018.
Yuto Followed The TikTok Trend
Yuto took the viral TikTok trend ahead by sharing his version. The video began with him opening his wallet and facing away from the camera while making viewers eager about his love interest. The next moment, he turned his wallet which turned out to be empty. Finally, he threw his empty wallet and stared at infinity.
It turned out to be a humorous video. Meanwhile, Yuto’s fans explained in the comment section how they required some time to recognize it was Yuto from the Pentagon. Some light-hearted fans requested him to fill his wallet with their photos, while some asked whether they could put his photo in theirs.
Single fans understood his situation and predicted he would have his love interest’s photo in his wallet after he enjoyed his single life. It looks cute when others, especially celebrities, follow the trend and cringe when we do.
After Parting Ways From Cube Entertainment
Yuto was one of the Pentagon band members who did not renew their contract with Cube Entertainment after a thorough discussion, according to the official statement released in October 2023. However, it did not mean their disbandment. They kept the door open for their further reunion.
The agency thanked the former Pentagon members for collaborating for seven years. Moreover, an end from that phase meant the beginning of a new one, and the agency wished the members good luck with that.
On the one hand, Yuto wrote a letter to his fans promising that he would stay with his fandom name ‘Universe.’ On the other hand, Yuto left Korea and went to Japan after signing with RINK Entertainment in late 2023.
Idols Part Ways With Cube Entertainment
In November 2023, Hongseok became the sixth member to part ways with the agency. All six members left mutually and promised to be a part of the Pentagon but not the agency. Hongseok thanked his fans and agency for his growth while being with the Pentagon on Instagram.
People wondered whether the exit of the sixth member meant disbandment, but he cleared that doubt. On the other hand, the agency thanked him for being with them from 2016. On the same day, all members of the K-pop band BTOB parted ways with the agency due to the completion of their contracts.
In December 2020, Cube Entertainment announced the termination of a BTOB member, Ilhoon, for using marijuana for four to five years and violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Former bands and artists under the agency are Sorn, 4Minute, Hyuna, Beast, and more. Current bands and artists under the agency are Park Sun-young, Na In-woo, Jo Kwon, and more. Freddie will return to Hollyoaks this year after seven years.
