The American music data tracking firm Luminate (formerly MRC Data) released the list of the Billboard charts on January 11, 2024, that had the record of the best-selling CDs of 2023. It holds a record that began on December 30, 2022, and ended on December 28, 2023.
The K-Pop stars that made their way to the list of the best-selling CDs of 2023 had acclaimed seven spots out of 10 on the list, along with Taylor Swift. The K-Pop artists who earned the seven spots on the list were Stray Kids, TXT, New Jeans, Twice, Seventeen, and BTS’ Jungkook.

Stray Kids have made it to the spot of being No. 1 in the best-selling CD album with their album ‘5 Star’ done by a group of male or male artists in 2023, along with being No. 2 on the list of the best-selling CD overall, followed by Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ that sold a score of 520,000 copies.
The Stray Kids also took over the fourth spot on the list, which was made possible through their latest album, ‘Rock Star’, of which 381,000 copies were sold in the U.S.
The Stray Kids have also made their way separately into the year-end list of the overall top 10 albums that were sold out in 2023 in the United States, this also includes digital sales and other physical formats.
The next is the third spot, which was overtaken by TXT’s ‘The Name Chapter: Temptation’; this best-selling CD of the year has sold 442,000 copies in the United States. ‘The Name Chapter: Temptation’ is the fifth extended play by the South Korean band Tomorrow X Together.
The band had released this album under Big Hit Music and Republic Records. This January 27, 2023, released album has five songs: Devil by the Window, Sugar Rush Ride, Happy Fools, Tinnitus and Farewell, and Neverland. The TXT has also been listed separately on the overall top 10 selling albums in the United States, apart from the sale of CDs.
‘Get Up’ by the South Korean girl group ‘New Jeans’ made its spot on the best-selling CDs of the year by being on fifth out of ten. The album is the second extended play that was produced by Frankie Scoca, Catherine Stoltenberg, and Henriette Motaz Feldt.
It was released on July 21, 2023, and has six tracks: New Jeans, Super Shy, ETA, Cool with You, Get Up, and ASAP. The “Get Up” made a sale of total 332,000 copies in the United States.
‘Ready to Be’ is the twelfth extended play by the girl group ‘Twice’; it stood sixth out of 10 on the list of the best-selling CDs of the year 2023 in the U.S. ‘Ready to Be’ was released on March 10, 2023, through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records. The album with seven-track has sold 303,000 copies of the CDs in the U.S. The girl group Twice also had a third world-wide concert of “Ready to Be” and a fifth overall concert by Twice.
The seventh spot is taken by Seventeen’s album ‘FML’, a tenth extended play of the boy band that had sold 288,000 copies of CDs in the U.S. The album has six tracks, of which ‘F*ck My Life’ and ‘Super’ are the EP’s double lead singles. The album was released on April 24, 2023, through Pledis Entertainment and YG Plus.
The 10th spot of the top 10 list is being taken by BTS’ Jungkook for his debut studio album ‘Golden’ that was released on November 3, 2023, through Big Hit Music. The album has a record of 244,000 sales in the CDs of the year in the U.S.
