BBC3’s Young MasterChef is back for a second season. Nine of the best young chefs in Britain, who are between the ages of 18 and 25, will be competing in the renowned MasterChef kitchen, putting the future generation of foodies to the test. They will fight through the rounds for ten weeks in an attempt to win the ultimate title.
Back at the helm, host Poppy O’Toole is joined by new judge great Has, a chef, author, and YouTube star who made a great impression during his guest appearance in the previous series.
Being a part of a show as prominent as MasterChef is a great honor, Big Has said. “What excites me is witnessing the candidates’ enthusiasm to share and learn about their cultural backgrounds via food.
I had a great time as a guest on the previous season. Similar to cuisine, you want to leave people with a positive impression of who you are. Fortunately, the producers were interested in what I was “cooking.”
Over ten weeks, nine of the most promising new talents at the center of Britain’s culinary revolution will compete in a variety of difficult cooking challenges. Only the top competitors advance to the next stage each week, where they will have the chance to vie for the coveted trophy.
Preview
Whether they are operating their at-home takeaway businesses, designing pop-ups, or cooking for their expanding social media followings, this year’s culinary hopefuls are driven for success and making their way outside of their day jobs.
They are now attempting a second leap into the MasterChef kitchen to demonstrate their ability to get to the final round. The ultimate culinary competition is about to begin when Young MasterChef returns in 2024, shaking things up.
The judges’ first task for the nine aspiring chefs will be to present their “Number 1” dish—a cuisine that exudes individuality, is bursting with flavor, and leaves the judges wanting more.
They will have to make some difficult decisions, though, if they want to avoid being eliminated in the following round. The challenge then steps up the skill level as the competitors must make the perfect plate of spaghetti, one of the Big Has’ go-to foods, from scratch. There will only be seven who advance to the next round.
The competition will then continue for the next four weeks, with challenges like cooking a three-course meal for the volunteers at the London Community Kitchen, which fed over half a million people from the neighborhood last year alone;
Creating the perfect brunch dish; presenting a dish for the Quarter Final dinner date that will make the judges’ hearts skip a beat; taking on a tall order, and cooking for the credit crunch by rustling up their best home “Fakeaway.”
To serve a Big Has’ BBQ-inspired cuisine for a celebrity celebration with some VIP guests expecting top-notch catering, the Semi-Finalists must next light up the coals. After competing in a series of tasks and challenges, three rookie cooks remain to compete for the top title. They will compete in two exciting challenges that call for really creative cooking.
Top-rank chef Tom Booton, who became the youngest head chef to ever oversee The Grill at the Dorchester Hotel in London at the age of 26, has each finalist recreate a recipe. They have to utilize all of their culinary prowess to follow Tom’s instructions precisely and serve up some delicious meal that looks and tastes the part.
