Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 16 was released on December 22nd, 2023, and the episode featured two different lines. The first was very basic as it showcased another friend from the past, which reminded me how emotional it is for Frieren to not age the other featured a development that could change a whole lot in the plot of the series.
The episode started with quite an emotional journey considering we saw Frieren yet again being reminded that her immortality is somewhat of a curse for her. However, she was still very glad to have met a friend from the past before he was going to die.
Moving forward, the second event of the episode is what will affect how the lore will develop now, with Sein being put in a very decisive situation. Sein’s journey continues him to look for his lost friend which ultimately led him to his current position.
As he asked around the village, they directed him towards an old lady who had seen this friend. The old lady makes them work for the information, and after the party ends up running errands for her, she informs him that she saw this friend go up to Tur city. This is a bit of a predicament, considering Frieren wants to go in the exact opposite direction.
