In the last chapter, we saw that Rex makes a move to recruit the elusive and unhinged villain of the B&B game, called Lily Hermonix. At first, we thought that poor Rex got drugged and dragged to a cave, only to get beaten up by Lily. However, funnily enough, it was just a dream, and Rex just passed out because he is a lightweight.
It seems like there was no black magic involved, but Rex just couldn’t hold the tiny amount of liquor he had. The revelation was super funny, and he wasn’t even able to properly recruit Lily. We will see what happens next with Rex and Lily in I’m Not the Hero! Chapter 26.
The story has been pretty interesting, and the main character of our series, Rex, never fails to make us laugh with his somewhat clumsy and idiotic personality. Rex might be a main character for us, but he is just a powerful side character in the game. Of course, he doesn’t really wish to change that fact either and stay obscure.
The only reason he even approached Lily Hermonix in the first place was because he thought she would make a decent pawn, even though she is a pretty big villain in the original game. She is also someone who has thoroughly traumatized Rex and countless other gamers with her tricks.
It is funny because the MC doesn’t want to be the hero and doesn’t want to be acknowledged as one, either, even though he has a clear advantage in the world. Recap
In the previous chapter of I’m Not the Hero!, Rex decides to meet the most notorious villain of B&B, known as Lily Hermonix. She was the most evil monster in the game, according to Rex, and after meeting her before, he calls her over to a Tavern for a simple chat where he plans on making her a pawn for his use.
Rex planned on using the secret he knew about Lily Hermonix to gauge the monster’s strength as well as use the information to his advantage. Lily asks Rex about what he meant when he said that he knew her secret, and Rex tells her that he can use his skill to appraise other people’s stats and skills.
He even says that her using dark magic to knock people out and put them to sleep was justified since they were a bunch of guys bothering a lady like that. Rex is pretty bold, and he tells Lily Hermonix that he wants to recruit her and wants her to use her skills to work with him.
Of course, Lily pretended to look flustered, and Rex was smug because he hadn’t divulged a very important detail that he knew about Lily yet. However, that is when he starts feeling dizzy and passes out, thinking that she has done Dark Magic on him. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a cave with Lily out of nowhere.
The two go in, and Lily’s entire demeanor shifts as she kicks him down and mocks Rex before revealing that she is actually a guy. Lily liked to humiliate the guys who came to her thinking she was a girl by beating them down and telling them about his true identity, which was pretty funny.
