On the last day of the year 2023, Kelsea Ballerini wrapped the year with a post on her Instagram of her enjoying her coffee with the Eiffel Tower in her background, as Kelsea was having a beautiful holiday week in Paris along with her boyfriend Chase Stokes.
The caption under her post read, “Three hundred and sixty-five days,” followed by her mentioning her exploration as a singer, which made her feel more enthusiastic. This year was a bit different for Kelsea, as it was the post-divorce year for her, and she took it as a year of ‘healing’ for herself. This year she even stepped forward to have a love that heals her as Kelsea confirmed her dating rumors with Chase Stokes in February 2023.
Kelsea Ballerini shares about her post-divorce ‘healing’ year
The “Love Me Like You Mean It” singer got married to Australian singer Morgan Evans on December 2, 2017, but in November 2022, the couple confirmed their divorce after a settled agreement. As she was getting divorced by the end of 2022, she looked forward to 2023 as her ‘healing year.’
The healing part also included healing in love as well, and in perspective to this, she opened a new chapter of love as Kelsea confirmed her dating rumors with Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes. The couple had appeared together in different public events as a couple and were also spotted having a holiday in Paris at the end of 2023.
In her ‘healing year,’ Kelsea also took steps forward in her singing career by continuing her ongoing ‘Heartfirst Tour’ from March 6 through July 1 all over the country as a part of the tour.
Kelsea had posted a black-and-white picture of herself having a coffee in a robe with her hair wrapped in a towel, a pair of sunglasses, and the Eiffel Tower in the background.
In her lengthy caption of the post, she wrote the advice she got from the chef to not add salt while cooking mussels, just lemon and herbs, so as to ‘honor the taste of the ocean.’ Adding to that, she should learn the damn difference between ‘stretching for height and not contorting for approval.’
While revealing her point of view on life, she said, “following the breadcrumbs of life to the next right thing” and marked that sometimes getting it wrong and still sometimes it gets right. While sharing her emotional moments of the year, she said, “crying. so much crying. stained cheeks in front of strangers, guttural exhales to those safest” in a form rhythm.
After going through the rollercoaster year 2023, Ballerini reflected on “healing the past and falling in love in the present, happening in lockstep.” The year was definitely one that has healed Kelsea in many ways, and she believes in starting over for a better healing process, as she said, “unabashedly existing in the art of starting over.”
Furthermore, in her caption, she wrote, “resenting airports and homes on wheels; exhaustion outweighing presence; guilt for knowing my luck should override it all.” The ‘Peter Pan’ singer noted that at the moment she’s paying less attention to what the fit of the jeans is and respecting all that life makes happen to make them a little snug or gapped at the waist.
She added that she’s “writing music like nothing is off limits, earning my artistic freedom, and never letting that paint dry.” Kelsea wrote, “Leaving his boots by the front door to let me know he’s coming back to me,” and concluded by mentioning that she’s coming back too which predicts that Kelsea is looking forward to achieving more in the next “Three hundred and sixty-five days” of the year 2024. She wished her friends, family and fans as she said, “Happy New Year’s Eve, friends. stay safe.” in her caption of the post.
After having a year of ups and downs, especially getting divorced from Morgan Evans in November 2022 after being in a five-year marriage, Kelsea, at the beginning of the year 2023, looked at it as a ‘healing year,’ and it can be said that the year has served her well in her healing process.
Ahead of her divorce, she was rumored to be dating Chase Stokes. They were first spotted together at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Los Angeles in January, after that, the pair confirmed their relationship in February 2023. Chase Stokes had said, “She [Kelsea] literally is the best person on planet earth,” to Entertainment Weekly in December 2023.
