DMDK leader (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam) Vijayakanth passed away recently in Chennai at the age of 71. The Miot Hospital officials verified the news, which was a shock for Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu film industry.
He has been suffering from health difficulties for the last 4–5 years. His leadership was officially assumed by Premlatha, his wife, on December 14 as she was appointed as general secretary at a party gathering in Chennai.
