The last chapter just fueled the rage of not only Ercia but also the readers after Ercia’s brother gets gravely injured by assassins. We already know her brother is pretty strong so the assassins would have to be exceptional to deliver such a fatal injury to not just him but also their house knights who have considerable strength.
It only meant that Ernos, the Crown Prince had made his move and tried to have his brother killed off. It also implies that Ercia is no longer safe because Ernos would do everything to strip her of power. We will see how Ercia decides to retaliate in The Price of Breaking Up Chapter 55.

In the previous chapter of The Price of Breaking Up, Ercia is shocked when she gets to know that her brother had been injured and she rushes back home to see him unconscious and bleeding out. She asks the Knights who were with him about how he got wounded and they tell her they were ambushed by assassins.
They had gone to see the merchant but they got assaulted instead out of no where. Of course it meant that the enemy knew her brother and knights would be there at that particular time before they ambushed them. It was more shocking because her brothers and the knights are very strong.
The Pope uses his divine healing magic to fix up Ercia’s brother, who had a large wound on his back. It was pretty suspicious to Ercia because her brother was uninjured everywhere except for his back. It only meant that the enemy had attacked him after sneaking up on him.
Ercia’s brother was healed even before the doctor came and she asks the Pope for another favor. She goes to see the rest of the injured Knights, and two of them were in a really bad shape. Ercia asks the Pope to heal the two Knights that were barely hanging on, and the Pope happily obliges and fixes them up.
As he is doing that, Ercia gets to know that her brother had woken up and she rushes by his side instantly. She tells her brother that she might be stripped of her title but her brother just asks her to stay alive and well. The love he holds for Ercia is obvious by the way he is so protective of her.
