Parker may have struck gold with the Dominion Creek, but things soon get out of hand after one of his dams break down, and a sluicer is almost washed away due to a simple mistake. As for Tony, the family business heads in a good direction after his son, Kevin, returns to be a part of his father’s gold search team.
Narrated by Shaun Dooley, Gold Rush revolves around placer gold miners who do everything they can to extract gold from the Klondike region of Yukon, Canada. The various groups are usually families who’ve been in this mining industry for years, and sometimes even bring their gold search to Alaska, USA.
The gold mining families to be returning in the 14th season of the Gold Rush are the Beets, Ness, and Parker Schnabel. We likely won’t see Hoffman, Lewis, or Clayton this time around, which is a bummer. Rick and the others will be making up for their absence by taking their gold search to another level this season.
Recap
With just 462 ounces collected of his 6,000-ounce gold aim, Tony decides to stop all mining efforts at the Indian River. He needs everyone to go back to Paradise Hill since he knows that land well and believes it would be much more fruitful than the Indian River. The problem was going to be the 30-year-old trommel that had been lying dormant for some time.
Last season, Kevin, Tony’s son, had brought a broken piece of the trommel to attention, and the operation took an unexpected setback. This year, Kevin decided not to come back for the gold search as he wanted to spend some time working on his newly bought home.
Tony had tried to fix the trommel for the last three months, and now it was finally time to put the thing back in place. Monica and Mike help their dad fix the trommel and shift it to a different location. Parker is glad that he has two spots at the same time, as he was able to collect enough ounces of gold to reach the target soon.
Chris processes the first cleanup of the week, which was collected from the El Dorado cut. Since the gold seemed to be collecting in one wing, Chris believes that something is up with Slucifier. While Parker leaves the plants to check on Slucifier, Tyson is put in charge of both of the plants.
At the Ness crew’s location, the team welcomes Ryan, the new mechanic who would be helping the crew in fixing their machinery. Although Ryan doesn’t have much experience working in the mines, he believes he can quickly learn things and adjust to the Yukon atmosphere. Ryan owns a 24-truck and trailer business, but now he had to fix a broken loader for Ness.
