Code Geass, the award-winning science fiction franchise, is returning with a brand new four-part movie. However, fans are upset because their favorite character from the franchise, Lelouch Lamperouge, will not be part of the project.
Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture recently revealed the main cast and additional staff details along with the trailer. However, Lelouch Lamperouge was not on the cast list, and fans were already aware that Lelouch would not appear in the movie.
But the cast reveal further confirmed their doubts. Lelouch enjoys a massive fan following all over the world, and Jun Fukuyama, Lelouch’s voice actor, is also closely linked to Lelouch’s popularity.
So when fans found out Jun Fukuyama was not among the staff for the movie, they were heartbroken. However, Code Geass fans are very dedicated to the franchise, even though their loyalty does gravitate towards Lelouch.
But they would never miss a chance to support a Code Geass project, so even though they are not happy about Lelouch’s absence.
Code Geass fans wholeheartedly support Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture; most are excited to get introduced to Ash and Roze’s characters.
Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture is a sequel to Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, which will be released in four installments in May 2024.
According to the latest cast information, voice actors Kouhei Amasaki and Makoto Furukawa will voice the main characters in the movie.
Makoto Furukawa is notably known for voicing Saitama’s character from One Punch Man. On the other hand, Kouhei Amasaki is popular among viewers for voicing the character Otto Suwen from Re: Zero.
Some fans do not want Code Geass to turn into another Gundam, and they are not overly thrilled as they don’t have high expectations from Sunrise.
But since it’s a Code Geass reboot, they are willing to give Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture a chance to see its potential.
Many fans of Code Geass are not fans of Akito Hyuga’s spin-offs, but Ash and Roze’s character designs appeal to the viewers.
The fans are not very fond of the Code Geass movies, so the new spin-offs in the alternative world seem like a money-making ploy.
They consider all the reboots and spin-offs after the original Code Geass anime’s ending pointless. As the series already got closure with the season-ending, all the new alternative world projects are belittling Leleouch’s sacrifice
. Everyone is quite disappointed that they never got any sequel anime after the original series ended. All they have been getting in the past few years is either some movie or OVA, which does not make them happy at all.
Fans are disappointed that, instead of an anime series, Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture is a four-part movie. Since Lelouch is already dead, they don’t see the point of why the creators are not giving the franchise a rest.

Plot
The holy empire of Britannia declared war on Japan, even though Japan had maintained neutrality and had been the world’s only superpower for a long time.
Britannia was going through an ongoing diplomatic conflict that had resulted from Japan’s resources. During the battle, the British army used mobile humanoid combat and armed knights.
Their power was beyond everyone’s imagination in Japan. The defense lines formed to protect mainland Japan were breached by the Britannia army, one after another.
Ultimately, Japan became a territory of the empire and had their freedom taken away from them. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was taken away from its name by the Empire of Britannia.
Japan was renamed Area 11 after it lost the battle against the Empire of Britannia. As a child, Lelouch Lamperouge, a resident of Japan, made a vow to his best friend Suzaku Kururugi that one day he would destroy Britannia and take back their country.
Seven years after the war, Lelouch Lamperouge gets into trouble with the Britannia army. However, he is about to get killed. A girl named C.C. offered him the ultimate power in return for fulfilling one of her wishes, and Lelouch signed a contract with her.
