British soap drama, Emmerdale, has been airing since 1972 and is mainly a show that focuses on the lives of the people and families living in the fictional village of Emmerdale in the Yorkshire Dales. Meant to last only for three months, the show created by Kevin Laffan has managed to now run for over half a century, making it one of the longest-running soap dramas in history.
It was the show’s raw and complex characters and well-planned, intricate storylines that had the audience hooked and demanding the show to continue airing more episodes which pushed the producers to last this long. It was originally titled Emmerdale Farm but was changed to just Emmerdale sometime during the late 1980s when the show underwent major changes.
It started as a story of a family on a farm and other people who lived around it, with the main focus of the story being on the Sugden family. There was not much happening in the start, and the overall story was boring and mundane, but it was around 1986 when a new production team took over and changed things for the better.
Since then, the show has been more dramatic with its plotlines and character arcs, with the creators killing off characters, introducing new cast members, and just entirely revamping the show. Presently, the show focuses on the long-running story of the Dingle family, who have been around for as long as we can remember.
While the show throws at fans many twists and turns, there are, at times, when fans are left confused about what is real and what is not. One such commotion arose because of one of the show’s characters, Dawn Taylor, who was pregnant on the show recently, but had fans questioning if the same was true in real life too.
Dawn Taylor’s real-life pregnancy rumors
Dawn Fletcher, also known to fans as Dawn Taylor, is the wife of Billy Fletcher, and the character is played by Olivia Bromley. Her character on the show has been introduced as a troubled lady, a woman with a dark past and terrible habits.
She has had an emotional storyline, that has left us crying one too many times, and fans have acknowledged the actress’ talent for the role. The actress has been with the show, Emmerdale, since 2018, and the growth her character has had is incredible to witness.
A while back in the show, Dawn’s character was revealed to be sixteen weeks into her pregnancy when she went for a check-up, and both Dawn and her fans were left shocked by the news. While Dawn was worrying about her recovery from addiction and how the pregnancy could throw her back into old habits that would eventually be harmful for the fetus, fans, on the other hand, were wondering something too.
The producers of the show deliberately showed Dawn as sixteen weeks pregnant, which is pretty far along, and this had the audience questioning if the actress was pregnant in real life too and if the plot was written that way to help her hide it from the public.
The actress was seen wearing a baby bump which looked too real to many who seemed convinced that the actress was pregnant. But as it turns out, Olivia Bromley is not confirmed to be dating anybody in real life and is unlikely to be pregnant.
In a recent episode of the show, Dawn gave birth to a baby boy, and this means that the bump is finally off. The actress even took to her social media, posting a picture with the baby bump and writing a caption that let fans know that it was all for the plot.
She wrote how hot it was because of the bump, and clearly stated that it was not real. While the bump may not have been real, and she might not have welcomed a newborn in real life, the actress revealed she did get to enjoy some benefits because of the bump, with people offering her their seats in public areas and getting to snack as much as she wanted.
She thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted, because with the baby finally out in the show, we’re sure things are about to get more complicated for her.
