In a recent interview with Variety, Noah Baumbach confirmed that he’s going to bring a movie to Netflix that will star George Clooney and Adam Sandler. The title of the movie still hasn’t been unveiled by the creator of the series “Doll and Em.” Baumbach had already done a collaboration with Sandler, exclusively with Netflix, “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected).
Baumbach has a reputed record of collaboration with Netflix, which includes its previous works, including “Marriage Story,” with Adam Drive and Scarlett Johansson as the cast. The movie was also nominated for the “best picture” title, and it is also an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel “White Noise,” starring Driver and Greta Gerwig.
George Clooney and Adam Sandler to Star in Baumbach’s Next Movie At Netflix
In the past Clooney and Sandler in respective movies have portrayed the phenomenal skills as actors both stars hold and the deliverance of their work has always been appreciated by the audience.
The news of the collaboration between the two stellar cast members came out following the thoughts Clooney was sharing regarding Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s new roles as Danny Ocean’s parents in the heist movie franchise “Ocean’s Eleven.”
Reportedly, the names of the producers of the untitled movie have been unveiled, which include Amy Pascal, David Heyman, and the director of the movie, Baumbach. The script for this upcoming movie is written by Emily Mortimer, with Baumbach as the co-writer. He had also co-wrote “Barbie,” the highly-grossing movie of the year, along with his partner Greta Gerwig.
Based on the comments made by the company’s film chief, Scott Stuber, this upcoming movie by Baumbach will be a “funny and emotional coming-of-age story about adults.” There were no comments made on the title of the movie. The details of the plot of the movie still remain vague.
This is the first time ever that Clooney will be collaborating with Baumbach as a director. Notedly, in the past, the filmmaker had a screenplay credit for Clooney’s animated Wes Anderson future “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” While Sandler and Baumbach have already worked together in The Meyerowitz Stories
Clooney recently directed “The Boys in the Boat,” which stars Joel Edgerton and Calum Turner and will be making its way into theatres during this year’s Christmas on December 25. He is also planned to star alongside Brad Pitt and Amy Adams in the movie Wolfs, with John Watts as the director. The movie is set to bow in theatres in 2024. Other than being an actor, Clooney will also be producing the movie.
Sandler has had a remarkable and long-standing relationship with Netflix for years now through his delivery of great works. Recently, in the animated feature “Leo,” Sandler was the voice actor for the lead. Sandler has also been featured in the recent Netflix movies “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” and “Murder Mystery 2.”
The directors and stars of the movie have been repped: Baumbach is being repped by UTA, Clooney by CCA, and Sandler by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. This film will be the fourth feature of Baumbach on Netflix, following Marriage Story, White Noise, and Meyerowitz Stories.
