Kim Dan is presented with another challenge as Jaekyung refuses to take a break and recover from his injury. But this is the standard for the MMA fighter as he is hopeless when it comes to self-preservation or self-care. Jaekyung just wants to maintain an image, but it is starting to deter him, and he will continue to do so in Jinx Chapter 42.
Jaekyung’s tendency to focus on fighting despite having injuries makes him somewhat cute and domesticable. If the guy didn’t have that flaw, it would be impossible for the Yaoi ship to sail, and there would be a future for the two leads. And the MMA fighter is hopeless about his weakness, blind to the pursuit of fame, too.
However, it is debatable as to why he so dearly wants to be the best among his peers. So far, we have seen that he has a dark side, one that involves a lot of fan service. And then there is his professional side, which is fueled by his fears, but is that all to him, or is there more?
Jinx Chapter 42 Spoilers
Jinx Chapter 42 will show us how Kim Dan will deal with Jaekyung’s lack of self-care. While the MMA fighter is popular and smart about many things, he doesn’t know the concept of taking a rest. All he knows and cares about is taking a rest to make sure he trains to get better for his next match.
There was a chapter where we saw Jaekyung in his home attire, watching an old movie to kill time at night. Kim Dan had moved in and asked him why he was unable to sleep that night. Jaekung explained that he is a rather light sleeper, and even a little sound would wake him up from his slumber. Just after that, Kim Dan was denied on the spot, to his dismay.
We saw the example of his light sleep during their trip to the US when Jaekyung and others were enjoying their midnight meal, but they woke him by mistake. It was one of the times when it wasn’t a good idea to be around the MMA fighter as he was suffering from massive anxiety. , Kim Dan helped him get over it while not being aware of how he cure the condition for good.
Jinx Chapter 41 Recap
Jinx Chapter 41 starts with Kim Dan realizing that the victory is Jaekyung’s and that everything is well. And that he has fallen badly for Jaekyung after the most recent incident, with all his being. And that there was no way for him to rationalize his way out of it. He could only accept it.
We were then brought to the hospital where Kim Dan’s grandmother was staying and getting treatment for cancer. Dan had gotten her a blanket that looked too nice to be cheap, and even her grandmother said it was too much for someone like her. Dan lied that it was for sale and he got it for a cheap price, so he didn’t mind.
The grandma mentioned that she had seen the match and liked how Jaekyung won it with relative ease. However, the next panel was a reminder that this is still a romance series as Grandma talked about taking care of her. Kim Dan nodded to her statement as he looked like that was what he intended to do.
