Desir and Azest’s team fought with each other in the previous episode. Viewers are curious to find out if Desir will be able to defeat Azest in A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special Episode 9.
Desir and his team’s location was completely blown up because of Azest and his team. They decided to set up another party.
Romantica advised Desir that if they did that, all of them would gather around their location. Desir told her that gathering them was his entire plan and told her to trust him.
Romantica followed Desir’s advice and disqualified the two participants. There were only 13 remaining participants.
Azest and her team decided to open the door and enter the building. Gabriel was also inside the building with his team, which surprised Azest and others.
Gabriel asked Azest if they were the ones who attacked their team outside. Someone had launched a sneak attack at them by using poor visibility.
They believed that it was quite a dirty trick for the top party in the academy. Azest informed him their party was attacked as well; Gabriel did not believe their words.
Azest challenged them to prove that it was they who attacked their team. Gabriel informed them that no one could use so many spells of that level at once except Azest and her team.
Azest knew that Gabriel and his team would never believe if she told them it was Beta’s doing. She figured out that must be what Beta was after, and Gabriel told them he was going to take it as an affirmation.
Azest warned her teammates not to engage in the fight. because she was going to take care of them. Gabriel told Azest that she had a talent for annoying him.
Gabriel’s team was cheering for him because they knew that he would win, since their leader was the strongest flame mage. Instead of attacking Gabriel, Azest chose to attack his teammates.
Desir told his teammates their plan was not working because there was no announcement. Azest easily defeated the other team and found Desir, Pram, and Romantica.
Recap
Desir expected it already so he was not surprised, but he was hoping for a friendly fire among Azest and Gabriel’s team.
Azest informed Desir that she locked them in place but did not make them transport out. Desir told her he planned to make both teams crush each other.
But Azest ruined that plan; she told him it was a pretty bad plan. Azest told Desir if he was qualified to call himself a single ranker, he should fight with her.
Azest and Desir’s team engaged themselves in a fight. Desir used a stone block against Azest but she managed to protect herself using Winterfest.
Pram gave a good fight to Azest’s teammate by using his sword. He could not believe that Pram had gotten so much stronger in such a short time.
Meanwhile, Doneta was fighting with Romantica; she was using a wind strike against him. But it was not working on Doneta; he remembered that Romantica was a mage of circle 2.
So he was very disappointed with her performance. Romantica was not sure what she should do in that situation because she had already run out of mana.
She was at a disadvantage during close combat when Romantica attacked Doneta by using the fog in her favour. But her plan failed because Doneta used his magical reaction to clear out his vision.
Romantica remembered that artifact, and Doneta told her it was not for the commoners. Romantica reminded him that they were not that different from each other since they were both students.
