Nox appears shocked and frustrated. Taigan was inspired to think back on his history by his father, who was well-liked in their hamlet.
Taigan was a powerful individual who was admired by many. In the world Taigan lives in, power is the law. Strong people are essentially capable of doing anything they want. In a city on the edge of the Arkheim Empire, such is the norm. The twist is that Taigan realizes that he is not the strongest person on the continent. Many swordsmen and geniuses exist, some much younger than he is.
War has made many of the skilled fighters on the continent. Taigan acknowledges that he is only alive because he avoided conflict with them, particularly with a group from Pure Oats known as Nox, whom his father formerly referred to as unapproachable geniuses. There is a touching sense of relief when we see May and Elina in the next scene. Although Elina is safe and they make up, May believes that Elina has abandoned him.
May acknowledges that his choice to part ways with Elina was a selfish one, driven by a desire to tackle obstacles on his own. The most important query is: Where is Nox? While Ron, a nobleman, is growing irritated waiting for Nox, Elina wants to thank him. Suddenly, Nox shows up and asks Ron to have a serious conversation. At first, Ron says no, but Nox keeps telling him it’s crucial.
Ron hesitantly accepts, and they get to talking about what happens in Chaders after Nox’s acts. Chaders prove to be a significant figure. It’s a wasteland that’s generating a lot of trouble on the edge of the Arkheim Empire.
Chaders wasn’t profitable, therefore, nobody gave a damn. Ron clarifies that it’s a headache for the imperial family as well. If Chaders falls, monsters could assault the central areas. Therefore, despite its seeming inutility, the empire defends itself. Unexpectedly, Nox asks to take command of Chaders. Ron wonders what Nox may be able to gain from such a place.
Nox makes a bargain offer, saying that he wishes to become a Ronhayer after finishing the task. Ron nods after giving it some thought. The story takes on a new dimension when it is revealed that Nox is the youngest son of the Reinhafer family.
He agrees to cede his rights even if he is unable to deliver outcomes. Ron decides to engage in talks with the empire to give Nox control of Chaders. There is a good combination of action, emotion, and surprising turns in this chapter. Ron views this as an opportunity to assess Nox’s territory management skills.
In this chapter, Nox surprises everyone with his grandiose ambitions for Chaders, May, and Elina enjoy a touching moment, and Taigan muses on the value of strength. Throughout the chapter, readers wonder if Nox will be able to handle the problematic wasteland and to what extent.
