Undead Unluck takes place in a world where people with special abilities called Negators exist. They are called negators because their ability stems from negating certain universe rules. There are two types of negators: Self-Targeting and External-Targeting. Self-targeting negators negate a certain rule on themselves, while External-Targeting negators negate a rule on those around them.
Some are specific to animate and inanimate objects. Each negator can negate only a specific rule, and their abilities grow as their understanding of their negation grows. Furthermore, when Negators die, their ability is moved to a random person.
Now that you have a rough idea of what the world is like let’s get to our main characters. Izumo Fuuko and Andy share the Main Character title. Izumo Fuuko is a young 18-year-old plagued by the worst luck humanely possible.
Technically, it isn’t Izumo who suffered from bad luck. It’s those around her. She is an External-Targeting Negator. She negates the luck of anyone she touches, causing them extreme misfortune in exchange. After accidentally killing her parents with her ability, she became a social recluse contemplating suicide.
When she was on the verge of ending things, she met Andy. Andy has regenerative abilities that would make even Deadpool jealous. If you didn’t guess already, he is a Self-Targeting Negator, and what he negates is death, no matter what form it is.
He has been alive for several centuries and was a prolific mercenary. He has complete control over his regenerative abilities and can now manipulate his body on a cellular level, granting him an array of defensive and offensive capabilities. Andy is trying to find a way for him to die and believes Izumo’s unluck is the way to it.
The List below contains a dozen animes with a similar tone to Undead Unluck. If you have finished watching the latest episode and want something to watch while waiting for the new one to drop, give the ones on this list a try.

As the story progresses, we come to know that Rin is not simply a random boy. It is revealed that he and his younger twin brother Yukio Okumura are the children of Satan. Rin was the only sibling to show traces of his demonic lineage.
When he was born, the Exorcists were able to seal his powers into a special sword called the Kurikara. His Father, Satan, will stop at nothing to bring his son to him. Rin decides to become an Exorcist to prevent this and to protect the ones who are close to him.

2. Bungo Stray Dogs
Bungo Stray Dogs takes place in a world where persons with supernatural abilities exist. They are managed by the Special Division For Unusual Powers which, to be honest, is not doing the best job. Several ability users run rampant, forming gangs of their own and so on.
The most prolific among them is the Port Mafia. They somehow obtained a Skilled Business Permit from the Special Division For Unusual Powers, which allows them to use people with abilities to do their bidding, masquerading as official businesses.
Our Protagonist, Atsushi Nakajima, is one such ability user with a very versatile one at that. His ability is “Beast Beneath The Moonlight.” Primarily, the ability transforms him into a white tiger. The ability is very similar to Hulk’s transformation, as when in this form, he has little to no control over himself.
The story progresses as he joins the Armed Detective Agency, which specializes in his ability-user-related crimes. The Agency provides him with the family he desperately wishes for and teaches him how to manage his transformation.

3. Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man takes place in a world where human fears manifest themselves as Devils. The more humans fear them, the stronger the Devil becomes. Devil Hunters are a skilled group of people who take it upon themselves to fight these devils.
There are Public Safety Devil Hunters employed by the government as well as Private Contractors. Not all humans are strong enough to take on Devils on their own, so some resort to making deals with other devils to gain a fraction of their power, depending on the size of their sacrifice.
Our Protagonist, Denji, works as a Devil Hunter for the Yakuza. Denji’s father owed a great sum of money to the Yakuza, and after his death, the Yakuza held Denji responsible for paying it off. The Devils he kills are taken and sold on the Blackmarket.
His only companion is Pochita, who is later revealed to be what’s left of the Chainsaw Devil. Pochita fuses with Denji, making him a friend or, as he is popularly known, Chainsaw Man. He is recruited into the Public Safety Devil Hunters, where he spends his day hunting rogue Devils.

5. Fire Force
Following the Great Cataclysm, the world of Fire Fore became almost inhabitable. The event left a lasting impression on the surviving humans in the form of Spontaneous Human Combustion. As the name suggests, it is when a human suddenly gets engulfed in flames, turning them into a fire elemental.
More often than not, these elementals, AKA Infernals, go berserk, wreaking havoc in the wake. This is where the Special Fire Force comes in. They are the ones who “exorcise” the infernals and protect other humans from harm.
Some humans, on the other hand, adapt to the Spontaneous Human Combustion, which grants them pyrokinetic abilities. They are categorized as 3, second, third, and fourth-generation pyrokinetic.
As you move up a generation, your pyrokinetic abilities change from being able to control flames to being able to create them to possessing the otherworldly Adolla Link. Our Protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, belongs to the latter group. The story progresses as Shinra joins Special Fire Force Company 8 to have a fresh start in life.

6. Gintama
Gintama takes place in an alternate reality, Japan, where aliens invaded and conquered Earth during the late Edo Period. Even though the Samurai of the time put up a decent fight, they were unable to keep up with the advanced technology the Aliens had.
The Shugunate surrenders to the invaders and is now forced into serving their alien overlords. The Samurai profession was outlawed, with their swords confiscated. Our Protagonist is one such Samurai, Sakata Gintoki, who now does odd jobs to make do.
The story progresses as Gintoki is hired by Shimura Shinpachi, who later joins Gintoki in his business. They later recruit Kagura, a humanoid-looking alien, into their fold as well.
A typical episode consists of the trio looking for work, and when they manage to find someone willing to hire them, they somehow mess up the job in a spectacular fashion. However, towards the end, things end up going their way anyway. The episodes are very comedic and are an excellent choice if you are looking to have a good laugh.

8. Kill La Kill
Kill La Kill takes place in a world where parasitic life forms called Life Fibers attached themselves to humans, fast-forwarding their evolution. As time went by, these life fibers became dormant, but humans never forgot about them. Even though dormant, their capabilities are still astounding as ever.
They are used in the creation of Goku Uniforms. They are regular clothes mixed with life fibers, which gives their users special abilities. The more life fibers used in making the Goku Uniform stronger, the more abilities the user gains from it.
The other is Kamuis, which are made of 100% Life Fibers. They are much stronger than Goku’s Uniforms and are powered by the user’s blood. Our Protagonist, Ryūko Matoi, has a special type of Kamui that is sentient and was created specifically for her by her father.
She is the only person who can unlock its true potential. Though it looks skimpy, there is a good reason for that. It is to prevent the user from being overwhelmed by the life fibers. The story progresses as Ryuko tries to find the culprit behind her father’s murder.

9. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation follows the life of Rudeus Greyrat, a Genius Magician. He showed a great aptitude for magic and mana from a very young age, being able to pull off complex skills without much effort.
He is one of the very few people who has mastered using spells without chanting them out loud. He also has a demonic eye, which he can use to peer into the future. This skill comes in handy during close combat as he can now predict their moves and dodge accordingly.
Even though Rudeus might look like an ordinary teenager, in reality, he is much, much older. He is a 34-year-old from Earth who died trying to protect some kids from being hit by a truck. After his death, his soul reincarnated into the world he is in now. The memories of his past life are all intact.
His massive mana pool and inherent talent are because of his reincarnation from another world. As one would expect, being a 34-year-old with the body of a child is extremely frustrating, no matter how powerful that body is.

10. Soul Eater
Soul Eater takes place in a world where Death is in charge of maintaining world balance. The story is primarily focused on the Death Weapon Meister Academy and its students. The school trains meisters and their respective demon weapons so that they can join him on his mission to world order.
For some context, Demon Weapons are people who can turn into magical weapons, while mesiters are those who wield them in battle. Not every meister can wield any demon weapon. Compatibility is a big factor in this.
The story revolves around 3 Death Weapon Meister Academy students and their Demon Weapons. First, we have Maka Albarn and her demon weapon Evans. Maka aims to become a scythe-meister. Then there is Black☆Star and his Demon Weapon, Tsubaku Nakatsukasa.
And finally, Death The Kid, the son of Death and his dual demon weapons Patricia Thompson and Elizabeth Thomson. The story follows these students as they try to convert their demon weapons into Death Scythes after absorbing the souls of 99 evil-doers and one witch.
