ABC’s long-running entrepreneurship and angel investor reality competition show continues to bolster the American dream for up-and-coming businesspersons in the US. That’s why Shark Tank Season 15 continues to impress us week after week.
Each week, Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, and some guests will hear pitches from up-and-coming entrepreneurs to see if they invest in their businesses to help them grow and achieve financial freedom.
This last episode was centered around Halloween and scary stuff; it was fun and in our recap. You’ll see why. Now, without any further ado, let’s see what the Sharks had to battle for or reject in this All-Hallow’-s Eve special.
Recap
This is a Halloween-themed special, and today, we are joined by Jason Blum, who founded the Blumhouse game company. The entire stage is decorated with tombstones, cobwebs, zombies, and candlelights. First up is a dude from Wisconsin who wants a quarter million dollars for his venture called “Thrill Builders”.
He wants to build a huge venue full of escape rooms, Halloween-themed topics, in essence, an amusement park. Jason Blum asks about the numbers, and then Mark Cuban asks about what are his finances. Barbara Corcoran and Kevin O’Leary ask about merchandising.
Lori remains quiet. Barbara is out, Jason comments about the potential, and Lori wants in then. Kevin offers the money but wants more stake percentage. There’s a bidding battle between Lori, Kevin, and Jason that ends up with all three of them approving the amount and sharing the stake, and the deal is sealed.
Then, a “Dia De Los Muertos” Mariachi band comes in with Annie from Monterrey Mexico. Her company sells Mexican candy in the form of liquid sauce. It is sugar-free and organic. Then, Annie makes Jason break a piñata with a baseball bat that has packaged candy from her brand. Corcoran, Greiner, and Cuban are interested and ask about the numbers. Barbara isn’t convinced, and she’s out. So is Lori, Jason, and Mark.
Kevin offers the money plus some stake in the company. Annie counter offers for the lesser stake, Kevin says no, there’s a negotiation round, and eventually, Annie says no because the stake O’Leary demands is too high.
The next pitch is two New Yorkers who carve pumpkins for a business. They want to set up a pumpkin carving school for 150 grand and an 8% stake in the company.
Lori wants to know what these guys are selling besides carved pumpkins. Corcoran asks about the numbers, Jason wants to know about the business model, Mark Cuban wants a pumpkin with Kevin O’Leary’s face to smash it with a baseball bat. O’Leary is doubtful of the feasibility of the model. Corcoran, O’Leary, Cuban, and Lori are out. Jason gives them a lesson on priorities, and they leave.
A couple pitches a tour company of haunted places named American Ghost Walks, history tours of about 32 places around America that will give the audience the backstory of haunted places. They have locations all over America. The sharks ask about the numbers, the business is on the rocks, but they are seeing some income. Kevin O’Leary starts doing some math and is doubtful, Lori seems confused, and Barbara is quiet, and then they say they’re out. So is Jason. Mark is out as well.
The only one making an offer is Kevin, always with his raise in the stake of the company, but with that offer and a negotiation, the sharks reject the pitch, and the show concludes.
