Recap and Review
Noh Eunah was lost in a big maze. She tried to remember what her teacher told her about finding your way when you are lost. Her teacher said to feel the mana flow to know which way to go. But Noh Eunah could not feel the mana flow in the maze.
While wandering around, she met a man. He said he was also lost. He offered her a bottle of water because he could see she was thirsty. Noh Eunah drank the water.
The man said he could give her a hint about how to get through the maze. But Noh Eunah wasn’t sure she should trust him. This was all part of her exam. Still, the man said it was okay to get help since this was the hardest part of the exam. He pointed down one path and said that was the right way to go.
Noh Eunah walked down the path the man pointed to. But she still could not feel the mana flow. She worried the man may have given her the wrong directions. Noh Eunah decided she could only rely on herself to find her way out of the maze. She kept walking carefully, believing in her own skills to show her the path forward.
Noh Eunah followed the path the man pointed down but felt no mana flow there. She wondered if his hint had been wrong. But how could he have misguided her? She also saw a teacher up ahead with some students. Her friend Heeji was there too!
Heeji said it was good timing that Eunah arrived. They were all asking the teacher which way they should go to escape the maze. One student begged the teacher for a hint. The teacher said he would help them and asked what direction the sun rises from.
But this confused Eunah. Using her special technique, she sensed the mana flow going the opposite way from what the teacher suggested. Very strange!
Spoilers and Expectations
Later, a new man appeared. He said they had done well to reach this place. It was the last crossroads before the exit. One of the three paths ahead would lead straight out of the maze. The exam would soon be over.
Eunah didn’t know who to trust—the first man, the teacher, or this new fellow. Their hints didn’t match what her own senses told her about the mana flow. But she stayed calm and kept using her skills. Eunah knew she must rely on herself to find the right path forward and complete the tricky maze exam.
