Reinhardt spots a man standing back and observing her. Frederick Schneider, Johanna’s husband, is identified by The Man as his identity. When Reinhardt addresses her as “Johanna Schneider,” Johanna flushes and explains that everything took place soon after Reinhardt left for Luden.
Johanna makes a future meeting with Reinhardt a promise, and then she departs. Reinhardt muses on the fact that Johanna’s husband seemed a little uneasy after seeing her and speculates as to what might have caused it. Wilhelm queries Reinhardt about Johanna, wondering if she was someone who remained by her side for a long time.
Reinhardt hugs Wilhelm and reminds him that everyone should always be kind to others, but Wilhelm counters that Reinhardt shouldn’t strive to comprehend other people’s situations when others don’t do the same. Then, he queries whether she would break up with him if he treated her improperly. Wilhelm continues by stating that Johanna appears to be the kind of person who would commit such a thing after Reinhardt replies “No.”
Wilhelm is informed by Reinhardt that since Johanna went for Luden, she must have also been in pain. An announcement for the entrance of the Emperor and Empress was made before Reinhardt could continue the talk.
Wilhelm questions Reinhardt about whether she would treat him equally if he had committed a sin. When Wilhelm asks a question like that, Reinhardt is startled and instructs him to continue the topic later.
Wilhelm and Reinhardt are standing and holding hands as they await the Emperor. After initially meeting Fernaha Glencia, the Emperor stops by Reinhardt’s home. Reinhardt greets Dulcinea, but she skips past her and goes straight for Wilhelm. She then puts her hand in front of Wilhelm.
