After-school Hanako-kun is a spin-off series of the famous supernatural anime series called “Toilet Bound Hanako-kun.” The spin-off series is pretty hilarious, but we are all upset that the duration of the episodes is rather short. The series is not really contributing to the plot of the original anime.
It is basically a light-hearted watch for the fans about what Nene and Hanako do after school. We saw them having many fun adventures, but there was not much about their everyday life. This spin-off series is an opportunity for us to know more about the troublesome things they do in their free time.
Of course, the cast is the same, and Hanako-kun is still the seventh wonder, actively keeping the supernatural barrier in check. Nene Yashiro is busy assisting Hanako in his duties because of some curse that she brought upon herself.
The story of Hanako’s ghost haunting a girl’s washroom is a pretty famous urban legend in Japan, and it is famous enough that even people outside Japan are aware of it. The show is based on that urban legend, but of course, it has some twists and turns to make it more fun. Hanako is supposed to be a girl, but it is actually a young boy in this series.
If you are interested in how Hanako became an urban legend, then you can surely look the original legend up. In the series, Nene Yashiro tries to call Hanako’s spirit to ask it for help in getting herself a boyfriend. She was pretty shocked when a young boy came up calling himself Hanako.
We learn that Hanako is the seventh wonder of the school who helps maintain the barrier between the human and supernatural world. He also keeps the other supernatural wonders in check. In this article, we will be talking about the release date of After-school Hanako-kun Episode 2, recap the previous episode, and tell our readers where they can watch the anime.
After-school Hanako-kun: Episode 1 Recap
In the previous episode of After-school Hanako-kun it opens up with Nene cleaning up the girl’s washroom, and she honestly looks tired of doing it every day. Well, anyone would go insane if they were given toilet duty every day. But Nene does not really have a choice.
She was stuck with the toilet cleaning duty since she needed to be around Hanako because he kept her curse in check. However, it did not mean Nene enjoyed it, and she was concerned that if she kept doing that, she would have no time for herself to find a boyfriend.
That was Nene’s goal since the beginning of the series, anyway. Nene goes to Aoi for help with her predicament, and she gives a rather poetic sermon. She says the obvious things, like how doing anything with the person you like becomes enjoyable.
It seemed like a piece of pretty useless advice to us, but Nene took it to heart. She asked Kou to help, and he brought Minamoto with him. Nene had a crush on Minamoto, so she was thrilled. However, Minamoto pulls out his sword and tries to attack Hanako, probably to exorcise him.
It was pretty funny watching Hanako and Kou fumble because of Minamoto. In the end, Kou takes Minamoto away for Hanako’s safety, and Nene’s plan is ruined. Hanako acts cool and sultry by asking Nene to fall for him because it would solve her problems.
Sadly, Nene has her rejection ready, and our quirky ghost gets coldly rejected. The next day, Hanako is attacked by Mokke, who wants to kill him and become one of the seven wonders. For things that look so cute, Mokke had violent ambitions like world destruction and subjugation.
