Celebrities and their close ones often become targets of false claims, and Jaden Smith is no exception. His death rumors became viral thrice, and people tried to find the truth on Google.
Born in 1998, Jaden decided to move out of his parent’s house and establish his empire on his fifteenth birthday. His parents agreed, and he moved to a home worth $4 million in Hidden Hills in June 2017. However, it did not mean breaking ties with each other. So, the father-son duo appeared together in various social events after that.
Jaden made his Hollywood debut in Pursuit of Happiness (2006) by playing Christopher Gardner Jr. Will played his father, Chris Gardner, in the film. Will and Jaden, again, played father and son in After Earth (2014).
Jaden played a lead role with Jackie Chan in The Karate Kid (2010). Inspired by Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Tycho, Kurt Cobain, and Will Smith, Jaden took many breaks from acting and tried his luck in music, modeling, fashion, entrepreneurship, and voice acting.
Jaden Smith’s Accident Hoax In 2019
Will Smith’s fans were worried about his son, Jaden Smith, after learning about their death in a car crash on Facebook. However, the claims turned out to be false. According to an unnamed article written in late 2019, the Pursuit of Happiness and his son got killed after their car collided with a truck.
People know how disastrous it is to trust a random source in this era. However, the website used the CNN Logo to publish the false story. Thus, hundreds of people shared the story, which immediately became viral on social media.
Facebook users believed the story, but Twitter users did not. Thankfully, sources close to Will Smith confirmed the actor’s and his son’s well-being. However, Will Smith did not react to the false claims. Actor Bruce Willis was also a target of fake death rumors once.
Meanwhile, Jaden’s parents, Jada Pinkett and Will Smith were concerned over his gray skin, dark circles under his eyes, and malnutrition. Thus, Jaden gained some pounds in 2019 through his vitamin supplements and protein shakes under the doctor’s guidance. It is how he decided to rise rather than die.
Jaden Smith’s Suicide Hoax In 2023
Several reports claimed that the 18-year-old Jaden Smith committed suicide in September 2023. Will and Jaden’s fans expressed their concern on social media. So, Jaden’s close ones burst the bubble and revealed that Jaden was alive.
Similar false claims were made on social media in August 2023, mentioning that he died by hanging himself. It is how he has been a frequent target of false claims. So, Jaden’s representatives also asked his fans not to believe everything shared on the internet in September 2023.
Moreover, someone opened a social media account with Will Smith’s name and published the fake story. Two images were stitched together. The image on the left portrayed a crying Will, and one on the right showed a candle with ‘RIP’ and ‘Rest In Peace’ written beside it.
YouTube and Facebook were mainly used for the same. On the other hand, no authentic website shared anything about Jaden’s illness, accident, or admission to a hospital.
Some Facebook posts shared links to fake news websites. The catch is that their headlines did not include the word ‘dead’ for Jaden. Moreover, the headlines claimed his age was fifteen, but he was twenty-four at that time.
We strongly discourage people from clicking on any random link, especially in the case of death hoaxes, because they might lead you to an unwanted destination. For instance, Jaden’s fake death article had many ads asking readers to install various types of software, such as Adobe Flash Player.
However, the misleading article was published in 2023, but Adobe Flash Player was suspended in 2020. Clicking on that ad could introduce malware in our system. On the other hand, the fake Facebook post had a photo linked to the video with the same news.
The video was also embedded at the bottom of the fake articles spreading Jaden’s death hoax, and those articles had scammy advertisements. Satire sites such as 8shit and TMZComedy shared another story indicating Jaden had removed his private parts to enjoy a genderless, impartial, and independent life in 2015. However, like his other stories, it turned out false.
