The show, Big Brother, features a group of competitors, referred to as HouseGuests, who reside in a specially constructed home loaded with cameras and microphones documenting their every move around the clock.
The HouseGuests are cut off from the outside world and are kept in seclusion. In a private space known as the Diary Room, they share their reflections on their daily life while they are there. They engage in competitions each week to gain control and safety inside the home.
They engage in a Head of Household (a.k.a. “HOH”) competition at the start of each week. The HoH competition winner nominates two among them for eviction while remaining exempt from elimination.
The current HoH, the nominees, and three additional contestants chosen at random are then picked to compete in the Power of Veto competition. One of the nominated HouseGuests has the option of having their nomination revoked or left in place by the PoV competition winner.
The HoH must promptly propose another HouseGuest for eviction if the veto winner exercises this power. Additionally, the PoV winner is exempt from being announced as the substitute nominee.
All of them have to cast votes to remove one of the nominees on eviction night; however, the Head of Household and the nominees are not permitted to participate. The Diary Room serves as the exclusive setting for this vote. The Head of Household casts the deciding vote in the event of a tie. The candidate who receives the most votes gets kicked out of the home.
The Jury, which is made up of the final seven evicted Houseguests, selects the season’s winner after being locked away in a separate location. The Jury is only permitted to witness the competitions and ceremonies that include all of the remaining ones; interviews or other videos that might reveal tactics or information about nominations are not given to them.
By voting for “America’s Favourite HouseGuest,” the viewing audience can give out an additional prize. Except for those who either want to leave or are evicted forcibly due to rule infractions, all evicted guests are eligible to receive this honor.
