Overtake! Episode 1: Release Date, Preview & Spoilers

Overtake! Episode 1 is the next one in the anime series, and it follows the theme of sports (auto racing (f4)). Unlike most anime series, it is not based on the manga series or the night novel Overtake! is an original anime show.

It may follow the footsteps of other successful sports anime like Slam Dunk, Inazuma Eleven, Hajime no Ippo, and many more. On top of that, the trailer of this anime series looks promising and hopefully may not disappoint the fan’s hope.

It’s produced by Kadokawa Corporation and animated by Troyca. The show is directed by Ei Aoki and written by Ayumi Sekine. It was officially announced in May 2023 and will be available to stream in October 2023.

The racing scene in the trailer felt similar to the Capita anime but with higher-quality animation. Since there aren’t many animes centered around this theme (F4 racing), we’re curious to see what Overtake! has for us.

Overtake! Trailer

A short trailer of the popular sports anime Overtake! was released in May 2023 by Troyca. Even though the trailer is one minute short, the fans are eager to watch.

The trailer begins with a Formula Four race car with the number 80 on the back. We believe that the F4 car shown at the start is the main character who will drive it to win the races.

It was proven when the next scene showed Haruka Asahina wearing his racing suit. He was about to participate in the race.

Next, we see Kouya Madoka and a man. They were talking about the F4. As Kouya Kouya Madoka has a camera with him, we can assume he is from the media or a freelancer.

Kouya Madoka met Haruka Asahina on the racing track. We learn the personality of Haruka Asahina, which is careless. He only cares about him and does not require anyone’s help to win the race.

Later in the trailer, we see the race where Haruka Asahina is leading the race. On the other side, we see Komaki Motors owner, who mentioned Haruka Asahina as the pride of their company.

At the end of the trailer, we learn that the person who won the race is Satsuki Harunaga, not Haruka Asahina. Satsuki Harunaga mentioned Tokumaru-san in his victory, calling him his second driver. He admits that it was because of Tokumaru-san that he won the race.

The Cast of Overtake!

Koya Madoka is the talented freelance photographer who uncovers the exhilarating world of Formula Four racing. He met Haruka Asahina on the racing track. Haruka Ashina is independent F4 driver and the pride of Komaki Motors.

We also have other supporting cast members, Satsuki Harunaga, Koutarou Komaki, Toshiki Tokumaru, and many more.

In the upcoming anime, Toshiki Tokumaru is voiced by Taku Yashiro, Haruka Asahina by Anan Furuya, Satsuki Harunaga is the official Japanese voice of Kengo Kawanishi, and Kouya Madoka by Katsuyuki Konishi.

Overtake! Plot

After experiencing a traumatic incident, Koya fell into a state of depression. However, he found renewed motivation through his collaboration with Haruka. The two are working together to achieve success in the competitive world of Formula 4.
