People’s Choice Country Awards, which is a spin-off of the People’s Choice Awards. The award night is just here!
The brand-new award show which is determined by fan votes and is a branch of the People’s Choice Awards, is set to begin on Thursday. It honors both the biggest country music stars and the most promising up-and-coming talents in the genre.
The vent will be broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, and it will be hosted by the brand Little Big Town. Suding this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards, they will recognize the achievements of various solo artists and groups in the country music genre, as well as present prestigious awards to two country music legends. Additionally, there will be performances from a lineup of highly talented artists, including some of the nominees.
Who is nominated for People’s Choice Country Awards 2023
Some of the biggest names in country music are up for awards in the 12 categories in this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards. These categories cover a wide range, including the best song, album, music video, collaboration, crossover song, tour, male solo artist, female solo artist, group/duo, social country star, star artist, and the people’s artist of 2023.
Morgan Wallen leads the pack with the most nominations, totaling 11. Following closely behind, Luke Combs has nine nominations, Jelly Roll has eight, Lainey Wilson has seven, and HARDY, Kane Brown, and Zach Bryan each have six nominations.
The coveted title of “People’s Artist of 2023” is being contested by Brown, Bryan, Combs, Wallen, and Wilson, as well as Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, and Blake Shelton.
Notable stars like Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, and Shania Twain are also among this year’s nominees.
Who is performing the 2023 event?
At the event, a lineup of talented artists including Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, and Wynonna Judd will be gracing the Grand Ole Opry stage. The list of performers for the event was revealed back in September.
At the People’s Choice Country Awards, they will be presenting two highly esteemed awards: the People’s Icon Award and the Country Champion Award.
This year, Toby Keith, who has had an impressive career spanning over three decades, will be receiving the People’s Icon Award. It is worth noting that he courageously resumed performing in July despite his battle with stomach cancer. Blake Shelton will have the honor of presenting this prestigious award to the 62-year-old artist known for his hit song “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”.
Wynonna Judd will be honored with the inaugural Country Champion Award, recognizing her long-standing commitment to philanthropy and social advocacy in her career. The 59-year-old, who was once part of The Judds, has been an advocate for various causes, including prison reform.
The trophy will be presented to her by Brothers Osborne. It is worth noting that in the 2022 CMAs, she presented the duo with the Vocal Duo of the Year award, an accolade she had previously won with her late mother Naomi Judd.
The ceremony will feature a star-studded lineup of presenters announcing the award winners. Apart from Blake Shelton and Brothers Osborne who will present the People’s Icon and County Champion Award, other presents include, Kristin Cavallari, Lady A, Lauren Alaina, Gabby Barrett, Hunter Hayes, Josh Ross, Kameron Marlowe, Adam Doleac, Carly Pearce, Chris Young, Dustin Lynch, Jessie James Decker, Leanne Morgan, Mickey Guyton, Nikki, Garcia, The War And Treaty, and Scotty McCreery.
