Wilderness Ending Explained:
In the later half of the show, we got to see about Liv’s childhood and how she faced issues with her mother, as her father cheated on her mother, and its impact on Liv’s life, which upheld the thought of revenge on Will. During the whole facade, the police suspected Garth of Cara’s murder, as their relationship was not how we thought it was.
During the facade, Liv later finds out about Will’s multiple affairs with Women, including Cara’s friend, and this leads to a repercussion about to take place. But as the police drop charges against Liv and Will, and Liv suggests a divorce with Will, Will refuses to divorce her, as he shows his side of being a toxic manipulator, which Liv already knows he is.
We find out how Will was just making fake promises to Liv to make her stay in their relationship, as Will’s parents found Liv a great match for their son. But his wishes turn to ashes when Liv confronts Will about their relationship and reports Will to the authorities for killing Cara, which puts Will in police custody.
Will, for being the manipulating person, even admits to the murder, which he didn’t commit just to stay with Liv. While Liv insists on justice for the pain she was put through, in the final episode of the season, we see Liv seeing Will at the prison, where Will tries to convince Liv of a chance, but Liv refuses. Will even pressurizes Liv by revealing her secrets about killing Cara, but Liv uses her new about-to-come baby as leverage to keep Will away from her life.
