Coming to the filming locations of the show, the entire episode took place in New York. Various locations of the city were used during different scenes serving as a beautiful backdrop for a working woman in America. 1. Harlem
This location was used to represent the neighborhood that Mavis lives in as well as the places that she goes to date. Her apartment is in the locality along with the workplace, and her entire day-to-day life was shot in this place in Manhattan.
We also saw Sylvia’s Restaurant in the series, where Mavis was having a job interview. Apollo Theatre was also featured in one of the episodes where she was watching a stand-up comedy show.
2. Times Square
I don’t think anyone needs a brief as to what this place is as we all know the tourist destination of New York City is too popular among fans. In the trailer of the show, we see Mavis, as well as her friends walking here. Also, the scene where she has a panic attack is shot at the Empire State Building, which is also located in Times Square itself.
3. Central Park
This is yet another location in New York that is too popular with the fans. It is a beautiful place for recreation and relaxation. On the show, we see that Mavis and her friends have decided to have a picnic here. We also saw the scene where Mavis goes for a run which is shot in Central Park itself.
4. Queens
This is a neighborhood in New York City which is featured on Survival of the Thickest. We see The Raw Bar, where Mavis and her friends spend their night and have fun drinking and bonding. Then we see the Bronx Zoo in the series, which is very famous for the people in the city as it is home to a wide variety of animals. We saw Mavis and her friends go on a date at the zoo in one of the episodes.
