Kinoshita Akane, our female lead, started playing FOS, AKA Forest Of Saviors, to impress her boyfriend, Furukawa Takuma. Takuma was an avid gamer, and his most recent obsession was FOS.
She was desperate to make their relationship work, and hence she spent a lot of time learning about the game and, with time, got quite good at it. However, Takuma being the cliche boyfriend, broke up with Akane because he met someone else in the game.
A heartbroken Akane tried to drown her sorrow by playing FOS, and that was where she met Yamada Akiko. Yamada is a gamer like her ex-boyfriend. However, he does it professionally. And as a bonus, Takuma is a big fan of Yamada’s streams.
This was the main reason why Akane asked Yamada to act like her boyfriend in front of Takuma. She was happy with the result as Takuma was devastated to see his idol with his former girlfriend.
What started as a way to get back at her ex slowly turned into a full-blown romance. They are very much in love and tend to spend a lot of their free time together. At the moment, Yadama is preparing to participate in a gaming tournament while Akane is going back to her hometown to attend her high school reunion.
There we got to meet one of her childhood friends, Takaya whom she used to be very close. Furthermore, Takaya has been in love with Akane for the longest time, although Akane had no idea about his feelings.

In the previous chapter, we saw Akane attend the much awaited Highschool Reunion. She had a great time meeting her old friends and spending time with them. However, that ended quickly when she heard her friends talk about her behind her back. Well, it was more about Takaya than her. There were talking about how Takaya was in love with her but was too afraid to make his move.
They know that she is in a relationship, and they are happy for her. Turns out Akane and Takaya were in an accident when they were younger. Akane’s older brother forbade him from ever talking to Akane.
Takaya’s family life was always hectic. His father was an alcoholic who would beat Takaya every time he got drunk. They blame Takaya for never making the first move, but little did they know he, too, was standing outside the door.
Akane was startled to see him as she hoped that he didn’t overhear any of their conversations. They go into the room together, and Akane tells her goodbyes as her older sister is coming to pick her up. Takaya was also leaving and left soon after.
Akane’s older sister calls her to tell her that she is on the way and that she should come out to the main road. Akane noticed a convenience store nearby and decided to wait in front of it.
However, the way to the store is through a narrow alleyway, and there is a hooded guy there whose face she cannot make out. She musters up her courage and walks past him. As she is doing that, she receives a call from Yamada, who wants to check up on her.
She tells him how the party had ended, that she is waiting for pickup, and that she will send pictures later. That was when Akane noticed that the hooded figure from before was standing right behind her. The scene then shifts to Yamada, who is seen standing by the road waiting for her response

From the looks of it, Akane might have found herself in a dangerous situation. Whoever that person was, they seemed to have followed Akane as she was walking by. We do not know what his intentions are. Any person who was waiting in a dark alleyway might not have the best of intentions in the first place.
Hopefully, Akane will be able to stay out of danger. It looks like Yamada might be making a trip to Takasaki. This might mean Yamada and Takaya might be meeting soon.
