In 2020, several K-Pop groups had their debuts during the COVID-19 and lockdown periods. Some of them eventually rose to fame, while others went unnoticed. The Chic & I’s was one of them.
Chic & I’s, previously known as Chic & Idle, was created under Liz Entertainment. The group initially debuted with nine members with the digital single, 3! 4!, on the 20th of July, 2020. The group’s fandom name has never come to light. After the debut, a few of the members left the group, and new ones were added.

The Debut of Chic & Idle
Liz Entertainment announced on the 25th of June, 2020, that a new girl group named Chic & Idle will make a debut. The members were revealed one after the other from different groups under the same company. The nine-member group included Hayu, Chae-i, Ella, Abin, U-Hee, Laeun, Dayeon, Byeolha, and Xindy.
Chic & Idle marked its official debut on the 20th of July, 2020, with a digital single, 3! 4!. But in 2021, the teaser released for their comeback excluded the member Byeolha. It was then confirmed that she departed from the group. And the new member, ICU’s Naye, was added.
The group changed their group name to Chic & I’s on the 10th of July, 2022. They released a digital single titled Summer Story on the 15th of July, 2022.
Loa was introduced as the new addition to the group on the 25th of January, 2023. Later that year, on the 28th of April, 2023, the company announced a new member named Lin-a in the group. Then, Dayeon revealed to leave Chic Angel and the company on the 29th of May, 2023. It was speculated that she also departed her ways from Chic & I’s as well.

Members of Chic & Idle
Chic & Idle is a group consisting of ten members, including U Hee, Laeun, Abin, Xindy, Naye, Chae-i, Haye, Ella, Loa, and Lin-a. The former members, Byeolha and Dayeon, left the group for their reasons. Currently, there are ten active members of the group participating, out of which two more recently joined.
U-Hee
Bae Soyeon, popularly known as U-Hee, was born on the 3rd of January, 2993, in South Korea. She has the position of Leader, Vocalist, and Main Dancer. The 30-year-old member has a height of 170 cm. U-Hee was introduced to the group on the 27th of June 2020 as the third member. She also debuted in the group named Chic Angel. The Stay was U-Hee’s solo debut digital single, released on the 14th of December, 2018. Her relationship status is single.
Laeun
Go Eunbin or Kwon Inseon, popularly known as La Eun, was born on the 17th of April, 1992, in Seoul, South Korea. She has the position of Main Rapper in the group. The 31-year-old member has a height of 167 cm. Laeun was introduced as the group’s seventh member on the 1st of July, 2020. Just like U-Hee, she is also a part of Chic Angel. Laeun is currently single.
Abin
Yang Jeonghee, popularly known as Abin, was born on the 22nd of June, 1996, in South Korea. She has the position of Rapper and Lead Dancer in the group. The 27-year-old member has a height of 167 cm. Abin was an ex-member of the group Chic Angel and is currently a member of the ICU. She was introduced as the group’s eighth member on the 2nd of July, 2020. She completed her education at Performing Arts High School. Abin is not dating anyone.
Xindy
Lee Chaewon, popularly known as Xindy, was born on the 23rd of August, 1997, in South Korea. She has the position of Rapper and Main Vocalist in the group. The 25-year-old member has a height of 167 cm. Xindy was introduced to the group as the sixth member on the 30th of June, 2020. Previously, she was a part of the group named DayDream. She is in Chic Angel with other Chic & I members and also in ZeroSix. On the 30th of May, 2022, Xindy released MERMAID and debuted as a soloist. She is not dating anyone.
Naye
Jo Hoyeon, popularly known as Naye, was born on the 13th of November, 1997, in South Korea. She has the position of Sub-Vocalist in the group. The 25-year-old member has a height of 162 cm. Naye is also in ICU as a member. She was introduced in the Chic & I’s on the 17th of December, 2021. Previously, Naye was an ex-member of YJIG. Her relationship status is single.
Chae-i
Park Chaeyi, popularly known as Chae-i, was born on the 16th of September, 1998, in South Korea. She has the position of Lead Dancer and Sub-Vocalist in the group. The 24-year-old member has a height of 161 cm. She was introduced to the group as the fourth member on the 28th of June, 2020. Chae-i completed her education at Performing Arts High School. She is also part of a group named ICU. Chae-i is not dating anyone.
Hayu
Han Gahyeon, popularly known as Hayu, was born on the 26th of October, 1998, in South Korea. She has the position of Lead Vocalist in the group. The 24-year-old member has a height of 163 cm. Hayu was the first member to be introduced to the group on the 25th of 2020. Like other members of Chic & I, Hayu is also a part of the ICU as a member. Hayu is currently single.
Ella
Choi Wonjung, popularly known as Ella, was born on the 11th of June, 1999, in South Korea. She has the position of Main Vocalist and Maknae of the group. The 24-year-old member has a height of 165 cm. She was introduced to the group as the fifth member on the 29th of June, 2020. Ella is also in the group ICU. Ella is not dating anyone.
Loa
Loa was born in 2000 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She completed her education at Nippon Engineering College from the Department of Dance Performance. The 22-year-old member has a height of 174 cm. She was introduced to the group as the ninth member on the 26th of January, 2023. Her MBTI type is INFP. Loa’s position in the group is not yet revealed. Loa’s relationship status is single.
Lin-a
Lin-a was born in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea, in 2005. The 17-year-old member has a height of 170 cm. She was introduced to the group as the tenth member on the 28th of April, 2023. She completed her education at Daekyung Culture Arts High School from the Department of Practical Dance. Her MBTI type is ENFP. Chic & I’s Lin-a is not dating anyone.
Albums of Chic & Idle
The group with nine members, including Hayu, Chae-i, Ella, Abin, U-Hee, Laeun, Dayeon, Byeolha, and Xindy, debuted with the digital single, 3! 4! on the 20th of July, 2020. The song was a remake of the Roo’Ra’s, the co-ed hip-hop group, 1996 songs with the same title.
Before releasing their next song, Byeolha left the group, and a new member, Naye, was introduced to the group. Chic & I’s became the group’s new name. The group dropped their next digital single, Summer Story, on the 15th of July, 2022. In January and April of 2023, Loa and Lin-a new members were revealed in the group, respectively.
Later on the 29th of May, 2023, Dayeon was said to quit Chic Angel and Liz Entertainment. She posted the news on her Instagram handle with a handwritten letter. It made clear that Dayeon also resigned from Chic & I’s.
