After a full night of studying, Kyotaro loses his grip on reality as his fatigue starts to catch up to him. He eats his breakfast when his sister hands him a bottle of mayonnaise. Kyotaro pours the mayonnaise, and after a while, he realizes that he doesn’t even like mayo. Kyotaro’s sister confirms that Kyotaro is fatigued through her experiment, but he doesn’t seem to be too happy about it.
Kyotaro’s mother tells him that she can drop him off at school if he’s too tired, but he refuses and walks away. While in his class, Kyotaro continuously thinks about his upcoming retreat; he decides to study hard, stop thinking about unnecessary things, and cram as much as possible in his brain.
Despite being aware of what he has to do, Kyotaro doesn’t feel right because lately, he has been having trouble thinking.
After school ends, Kyotaro’s mother picks him up even though he tells her that he is fine. When Kyotaro returns home, he gets greeted by Yamada, which shocks him as he didn’t think she would be there. Kyotaro’s sister asks him if he wants to eat what she cooked, but he refuses then. Yamada also adds that she also cooked something, so he sits down to eat.
Yamada then added the finishing touches, and Kyotaro stared at her as he couldn’t believe that she cooked something. He quickly finishes eating and heads for his room to study while his mother and Yamada chat. Kyotaro finds his dad in his room, but he ignores him and lies down. Yamada also enters the room after some time, and so Kyotaro’s dad leaves.
Kyotaro says that his family is being too obvious about everything, and even though he likes being treated this way, he is scared of what would happen if he failed. Kyotaro starts shouting because if he keeps thinking about negative stuff, then it will come true. Yamada notices him getting uneasy, so she also lies down on the bed to calm him.
Yamada hugs Kyotaro and tells him to let out all of his frustration so that he can move forward. She says that the Kyotaro she loves is someone who complains and puts himself down a lot, but he never quits. Kyotaro remembers the time when Yamada told him about her problems, and he felt relieved. He turns around to kiss Yamada when suddenly his sister enters the room, which causes him to move away.
Kyotaro’s sister hands him over a note with the lyrics she prepared to sing with Kyotaro for her next live show. Kyotaro gets startled because he completely forgot about the show, but Yamada gets excited about it. He closely observes the note and finds that the show is even closer than he expected, so he asks his sister if he could make some adjustments to it.
