I am the Older Sister of the Possessed Female Lead. Chapter 36 is the next for the series, and things are not looking good for Mariette as the story progresses further. Annette has started to suspect Mariette, and her suspicions even got confirmed when Mariette agreed on something which didn’t even exist in the first place.
As all the readers know, Mariette wasn’t supposed to be friendly towards the female lead Annette, but at the beginning of the story, another person reincarnated as her and decides to save Annette and become friendly with her.
Annette picked up on this sudden change, but she paid no attention to it until now when she decided to test Mariette. How Mariette will get out of this situation would indeed be interesting to see.

Annette asks Renier to tell her how he knows about the escape route used by the imperial family. Renier gets stops for a moment and turns his face away to think, he then suddenly approaches Annette and tells her that he doesn’t want to put her in a dangerous situation, so he won’t say anything to her. Annette tries to say something, but Renier requests her to stay silent.
Annette tells Renier that she has been living in the realm of danger for quite a while now, but Renier still insists that she stays silent. He then grabs Annette’s hand and asks her to avoid going out until she reaches the Valois seat. Renier also advises Annette to bring her guards the next time she visits the palace, no matter what it takes.
Renier then takes Annette toward her cart and asks her to run toward the cart as fast as she can. After a while, Renier gets caught again by Acille, who chains him and tortures him. Achille asks Renier if he took him for a fool just because he sat back and watched what he would do. Renier replies in a muffled voice that as long as Acille uses violence as his only weapon, he will never get anything out of him.
Achille smiles and says that he’s the emperor, so he’ll break Renier. He then pulls out a jewel which makes Renner tremble in fear. Acille uses the power of the jewel and asks Renier to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness. Renier follows the order and apologizes while crying, which makes Acille happy.
Acille already knew something was off when Catherine pretended not to recognize Renier, but he still let her keep Renier around for two main reasons.
Firstly Renier couldn’t disobey the emperor as long as he had the jewel, and secondly, Acille could spy on Renier’s actions by using the jewel, which means that he saw everything that was said between Catherine and Renier.
Acille tells Renier that after he learns that Annette doesn’t admit how fond Catherine is of her, he realizes that she will never come to his side, but after what happened earlier, he now knows that he can use Renier as bait to lure Annette.
Meanwhile, Annette and Mariette return to Valois in their Cart. Mariette says that she hopes Noel won’t be scared this time when he arrives in Valois.
Annette asks her if she is friends with Noel, but Mariette replies that she’s getting there, but Noel is still a bit self-conscious. Mariette’s father says that as the Crown Duke of Artois, Noel would be an adequate match for Mariette.
Mariette says that Noel is just a friend and lets out a sigh. Annette then asks Mariette if she remembers the cat they had when they were little.
Mariette smiles and says that, of course, she remembers her, but Annette gets shocked because they never had a cat, and she was just testing Mariette. Mariette starts talking to the maid, but Annette gets anxious as she wonders if Mariette’s memory has become unsound.
