O’Shea Jackson Sr., popularly known as rapper “Ice Cube,” has gained prominence as both a rapper and an actor, with well-known movies like “Friday” and “Are We There Yet?” His stance against vaccinations has also been a point of his recognition. However, the recent comment he made on a talk show has sparked controversy and stuck him between a rock and a hard place.
In a recent interview with conservative political commentator and Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson, rapper “Ice Cube” disclosed that he believes he was denied a lucrative film role worth nine million dollars due to his refusal to get the Covid-19 vaccine. The interview took place inside Ice Cube’s car as it drove around his hometown of Los Angeles.
This revelation had drawn attention and sparked discussions about the vaccine’s impact on certain industries, including Holywood. Indeed, it is likely that 53-year-old raper was referring to being dropped from the cast of the comedy film “Oh Hell No”. The movie is directed by Kitao Sakurai and produced by Sony Pictures.
Why did the rapper say?
In response to questions about why he didn’t take the Covid-19 vaccine, Ice Cube explained that he wanted to set an example for his children, ensuring they didn’t take it either. He stated that he stood firm on his convictions and didn’t want to be controlled. Ice Cube expressed concerns about the rapid development of the vaccine, feeling it was a rushed job and not feeling safe because of it.

He also mentioned that he viewed the scientific approach as too experimental in this case, leading to a lack of trust. Ice Cube acknowledged that he had heard what experts and authorities said about the vaccine, but ultimately, he believed the decision was his to make.
He recognized that there were no consequences for them if they turned out to be wrong, but he would bear all the repercussions if he made the wrong decision. Despite the considerable amount of money from the film role that he walked away from, Ice Cube asserted that it was not a difficult decision for him to prioritize his beliefs and concerns over financial gain.
Is Tucker Carlson vaccinated?
The interaction between Ice Cube and Tucker Carlson regarding vaccination is indeed interesting. When Ice Cube asked Tucker Carlson if he had been vaccinated, Carlson responded with a laugh and said, “Of course not”.
It is worth noting that in April 2022, Tucker Carlson had previously avoided answering questions about his vaccination status in relation to Fox New’s vaccination policy. However, during an event at a megachurch in San Diego County, he openly admitted not to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
