But we did not know that the show took to Chester to film as well. Given that the actors and crew of Outlander are headquartered in Cumbernauld, Scotland, they frequently choose areas that are near home.
The new season of Outlander was briefly filmed in England as well as revealed by the writer. She also claimed that the locations of the filming was close to Chester’s city walls.
The city also possesses several sandstone wall structures, castles, and renowned museums because it was a significant destination for the Ancient Romans. Scotland is a nation that is said to draw millions of visitors every year from all over the world.
The credit goes to its rich historical legacy, vibrant culture, beautiful terrain, and architecture. Sam Heughan, who will portray J. Fraser, was also seen filming several important sequences for the upcoming season of the show near Burntisland’s East Dock.
Where is it located, you might ask? Well, on the Firth of Forth, in the Scottish province of Fife, sits the town of Burntisland. The area is well-known for its stunning beaches and opulent castles, which offer the ideal setting for the historical fiction aesthetic that the program is known for.
Writer Phoebe Taplin disclosed in an interview some additional Scottish sites that will be included in the show’s filming this time. She remarked, “I know they’ve been back to Kinloch Rannoch and some other old favorites like Lallybroch. This is a teeny-tiny Midhope Castle that is close to Hopetoun House.
The East Lothian shoreline of Glasgow, and some other locations, namely Duncarron Medieval Fort, which is around 9.5 miles south of Stirling, have also been used for filming.
It’s a recreated medieval fort and roundhouse hamlet that isn’t regularly open, but reportedly they have the storming ram from Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood there,” Phoebe added.
Some vigilant fans have been updating the fandom. Recently, @huxleys_chester shared pictures earlier showing two Redcoats and props being set up close to Chester City walls.
Some Outlander fans in Liverpool also caught sight of Sam Heughan and David Berry. These two were seen spotted filming on Canning Street, which had been altered to represent Philadelphia in the 1770s.
