The Genius Paik ended last week on Sunday, and fans have been sharing a bittersweet moment with the rest of the team members as the first Season of the Variety Show came to an end with 13 Episodes. Originally produced by tvN, The Genius Paik launched its first episode on 2nd April 2023 and is available to watch on platforms like Viu and TVING.
The Genius Paik showcases the hard work and dedication put in by Mr. Paik (Baek Jung Won) with the rest of his team members to open a successful restaurant. There were a total of two teams that were stationed in two different locations. While Bambam helped around in Marrakesh, Morocco, John Park, and Kwon Yu Ri worked in Naples, Italy.

The Genius Paik Episode 13: How Does it End? (Spoilers!)
The Genius Paik Episode 13 ends on a rather sentimental note as the team realizes it’s the last day in Naples. They all reminisce on how it all began and how all the labor that they had put in finally bore fruit, and they successfully ran a restaurant. Not only were they close to achieving their target goal of 500,000, but the food they made was also received with much love from the local people.
The team – Baek Jung Won, John Park, Kwon Yu Ri, and Lee Jang Woo all talked about their beloved customers, who not only came and enjoyed their food but also brought back more people along with them the following days. Out of the 300-plus customers they had catered to, many of them were regulars who came back each time with different people, spreading their love for the food and the restaurant.
The realization that it all had come to an end made Yu Ri tear up, and she went to where all the dishes and appliances of the Restaurant were kept and began crying. On replaying the moment, Jang Woo confessed that seeing Yu Ri cry like that made him tear up too, but he refrained in front of the cameras.
The episode ended with everyone agreeing on how this experience brought to them many cherishing memories they will never forget. And though it was rather scary and difficult to build a business from the bottom, Mr. Paik was proud of his team and glad they could pull through.
Will There Be The Genius Paik Episode 14?
As of yet, there has been no announcement regarding the release of The Genius Paik Episode 14. However, by the end of the last episode, the staff members and the rest of the team were joking around about having a Season 2 of the Show. Bambam, who worked in the Morocco branch, said that he would definitely want a season 2, and it would be great to have Baek Jong Won as well.
This made everyone laugh, as the show would not be possible without Baek himself, as it was named after him. On a serious note, the staff asked Baek Jong Won once again if he would be willing to come back for Season 2 of the show and asked if he would immediately agree or would need some time to think. The Show ended on a cliffhanger, with no real update regarding his decision.
They all discussed how they would make a great team if there was a reboot of the show, as now they had mastered the art of working together over time. The team members had spent so much time together that they now knew each other’s pros and cons and could lend a hand when one needed help. They were positive that Season 2 would witness more efficiency within the group and maybe reach a higher target.
However, it can be concluded with the fact that Jong Won indeed enjoyed his time managing both restaurants in Morocco and Italy. Though it was his first time starting from scratch, he enjoyed the challenge and the memories he made along with it. Safe to say, the cliffhanger on which The Genius Paik Episode 13 ended is a positive sign that Baek Jong Won will be back, and possibly with the same team members.
