The chapter starts with Yanu and Eyra looking for treasure in the snow plains. On their way to the Caravan, a high pile of snow blocked their way, and to get to the caravan, they had to clear the path. But Erya’s magic would not help much.

So Yanu asks Erya if she wants to help him. He tells Erya to follow him to the cliff. He takes her to a place where the landslide started. And seeing that place, Eyra knew someone used magic there as a spell caused it. It didn’t just happen out of the blue. Someone intentionally triggered it, and jelly picked up on the sign.

The trace of energy was too faint to tell whether the culprit was a mage or someone with a magical device. After scanning the place, Yanu finds something. He tells Eyra to light a fire there, but Erya doesn’t see any point in lighting a fire, as there is nothing.

Yanu tells her if she wants to clear the path, she needs to do as he says. Erya thinks maybe he’s got a plan and fires the place. When Erya lights the fire, a group of ocampans hiding there come out. Ocampanas hibernate through winter, but Erya’s fire woke that herd up.

And they’re not happy about it. Yanu picks Erya and runs from the Ocampans. He tells Erya to look at the ocampans carefully, and when Erya looks at them, she sees that the ocampans keep one of their eyes closed while in full gallop. Yanu knew she would love to see it.

However, Yanu was running on the way to the village, so Erya told him they should stop the ocampans, or they might enter the nearby town. Yanu leaves Erya on a mountain and then attracts all the ocampans towards him.

He then slaughtered a bunch of ocampans, and Yanu was rewarded with a mountain of magic stones, which he all gave to Erya. After that, they head towards the valley. When they reached there, a person from the village asked for help from them.
