However, it is a slice-of-life story that is hard to come by these days, a unique one that is hard to put into words.

Call of the Night Chapter 174 started with one of the most unexpected openings of the entire series. Kou outright said that Nazuna wouldn’t fall for her no matter how much she tried. This visibly aggravated her, but she didn’t say much on the matter as she knew the circumstances better than anyone else.
So, she decided to fly away from the site despite being in school uniform to meet a certain someone. She didn’t say who it was, but it also seemed she just wanted to distance herself from Kou after his bold proclamation. Kou was dumbfounded and made a note to tell her not to fly away like that in public with the uniform from his school.
Kou then goes for a walk and reconsiders everything that he has known so far. His chances of being a vampire looked slimmer, for neither of them could fall for each other. And there was also one more thing that was troubling him, what would their relationship be like after he became one?

Call of the Night Chapter 175 will see Kou talk to the series’ beloved Love-San, the man who brings clarity to the lost soul (not really). Love is quite an interesting character as he always brings a fresh perspective to the story, and his showing up will do that. And the topic of discussion will also be none other than true love, a thing that Kou is incapable of processing the more he thinks about it.
The burning of his friend, along with one of his fellow vampires, also had made him confused over the matter as he was even more confused than ever on the subject. Despite Kiku being opportunistic when she was introduced in the story, she still fell for Seki in the end. And the two spend their last sunset together, a scene that will always be one of the most memorable in the series.
