The release date of One Punch Man Chapter 187 is what makes the Saitama Fans really excited. So coming over the previous chapters, we see that Genos are responding to the Forest King attacking a city where this Forest King is a dragon-level monster.
We also see Genos’ new upgrade, which in this chapter is called the Lightning Core, and it seems like he was easily able to deal with the Forest King. He also said that he asked Saitama for another sparring match, and that brings us to the event where he meets up with Saitama in his new apartment in the Hero Association, which they also discuss.
Later, they eventually get to the point of Genos asking Saitama for the said sparring match, and they go out. As they are making their way to the area that they are going to spare, Saitama says that there sure have been a lot of monsters lately while mentioning that he believes that now it is easier to find a monster than it is to find a stag beetle.

The implication to this, or at least what it was kind of revealed a couple of chapters back, is that God is aware that Saitama removed his Limiter, and since that happened, he is kind of ramping up the number of monsters that have been coming out.
Wither through what he has done to mankind, you know, through them naturally becoming the monsters, or him, just straight up making them, because we know that he is capable of; as we saw that he just was able to make Sage Centipede, and that is why it is more in a response of Saitama, more than anything. He is trying to get monsters in order to get compensated for that.
One Punch Man Chapter 186: Recap and Review
Later, they get to where they are gonna fight, and Genos activates his Lightning Core. It’s super bright, and it just bothers Saitama, like he is closing his eyes, not even concerned about Genos, who is about to just level him, and before Genos connect, Saitama stops his punch right before his face, he realizes that Saitama is just is not concerned with him all.
Genos believes that Saitama is just more so bothered by the light in his eyes, and with this, we see a massive dust cloud behind Saitama from Genos’ punch, and I am sure that this looks exactly the same as the dust cloud that Saitama left behind Genos when they first had their sparring match in season one of the anime.
This whole sequence is supposed to parallel that because after Saitama left that dust cloud behind Genos, Genos said at that time that he can not picture himself coming even close to attaining the Sensei’s powers, and considering what is happening now, is more or so supposed to show where Genos’ mental state is at.
This was because, in theory, he kind of has reached that now. Of course, he is not as strong as Saitama, but at least the dust cloud that they were able to create is at the same level, and that is why we can say that Genos has increased in power, but he is unable to see that.
That is also going to be one of the big downfalls of leading further into the story, and he keeps comparing himself to Saitama.
