The teaser PV for When Will Ayumu Make His Move? Has also been revealed, and we’ Sōichirō Yamamoto’s manga series When Will Ayumu Make His Move? Was written and illustrated in Japan. In 2018, Shōgi no Yatsu, a webcomic adaptation, was released. Since March 2019, Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine has been serializing the manga.
Yaotome is the adorable president of her high school’s shogi (Japanese chess) club, and she’s very convinced her sole member, Ayumu, has a tremendous crush on her. Every day after school, they play shogi together, but no matter what she tries, What she doesn’t realize is that Ayumu has made a deal with himself to declare his feelings only when he has defeated Yaotome in shogi for the first time. Between April 22 and November 19, 2018, Yamamoto published an irregular prototype webcomic called Shōgi no Yatsu on his Twitter account.
On March 6, 2019, it was first published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Individual tankōbon volumes have been created by Kodansha. On July 4, 2019, the first volume was released. Ten volumes have been released as of January 17, 2022. The manga was licensed for English release in North America by Kodansha USA in March 2021.

When Will Ayumu Make His Move? Release Date
When Will Ayumu Make His Move?’s official website also disclosed the anime’s debut season and year previously, and it was expected that the first episode of the anime would be available in July 2022, and the time has finally arrived. More details about the debut date and the first season of the anime will be released as soon as they become available. With the opening of the official website comes the establishment of the official Twitter account @soreayu staff, which will provide updates on the show’s premiere. When Will Ayumu Make His Move? will be animated by Silver Link, with Mirai Minato as director and Deko Akao writing the series narrative. Kazuya Hirata will also be a part of the character design team. The anime When Will Ayumu Make His Move? is set to premiere in July 2022.
The anime adaptation was announced back on January 8, 2021. Silver Link will animate the series, which will be directed by Mirai Minato. Deko Akao will manage the screenplay, while Kazuya Hirata will design the characters. It will air on TBS and other stations in July 2022.

About the Characters
Yōhei Azakami provides the voice of Ayumu Tanaka. Ayumu is a shogi club member and a first-year high school student. He has resolved not to disclose his emotions for Urushi Yaotome until he has defeated her at shogi. However, because he has never won, their relationship has never evolved. He was a member of the kendo club while he was in middle school, and his strategies for breaking through his opponent’s defense were great. Thus, he had a good reputation in the club. His defense methods have grown increasingly, which is important in shogi as well, yet Urushi continues to read his plays.
Yuka Iguchi provides the voice of Urushi Yaotome. Urushi is Ayumu’s senpai in the shogi club and is a second-year student. Despite the fact that Urushi claims to be the president of the shogi club, it is not recognized as an official club due to Urushi thinks Ayumu likes her, but she hasn’t managed to get him to confess it. Tsubasa Gouden plays Takeru Kakuryu. Hina Yomiya provides the voice of Sakurako Mikage.
