What if you lend a helping hand to someone in need and turn, they seduce you and tie you in a game of life and death? Directed by Eli Roth, the film focuses on a devoted father leading a happy life with his wife and kids and how his life turns upside down when he offers a helping hand to two women he assumed to be under 18.
Even though the film had Keanu Reeves in the lead, it failed to make an impression on the viewers as its total box office collection was $6.3 M whereas the investment in making the film was $10 M. Written by Eli Roth and Nicholas Lopez the film takes inspiration from a psychological thriller film titled Death Game written by Anthony Overman.
Produced by Colleen Camp and Tim Degraye, the film stars Keanu Reeves plays the role of Evan Webber, an architect, and devoted father. Ana De Armas plays the role of Bel, Genesis’s partner in crime. Lorena Izzo plays the role of Genesis, the woman asking for Evan’s help; Ignacia Allamand plays the role of Karen Alvarado, Evan’s wife; Aaron Burns plays the role of Louis, Bel’s manager. Colleen Camp plays the role of Vivian, Karen’s friend. Otto plays the role of Monkey, and the family dog, Dan Baily, plays the role of Jake. And Meghan Bailey plays the role of Lisa.
Knock Knock didn’t have any uniqueness to it. Though the film tried to bring a satirical approach to torture and horror, it failed to make an impression on the audience. The message given out by the film also wasn’t loved by the viewers as they felt in the time of social media, one should always think twice before offering help to anyone. Keanu Reeves was the only thing worth watching in Knock Knock as he conventionally portrayed his role.

Knock Knock Premise
The film focuses on Evan living a happy, fulfilling life with his wife and kids and the turn his life takes after he decides to help two girls pretending to be underage. The film begins with Evans happily spending time with his family before they leave to go to a beach for the weekend. Evans is left at home alone with the family’s pet dog after his wife and kids leave for a weekend trip to the beach as he has to go to physical therapy for his shoulder.
Karen, Evan’s wife, is an artist responsible for moving a sculpture to the gallery for exhibition. She leaves Louis behind as the in charge of the transportation of the sculpture to the museum. As the day went by, two women, Bel and Genesis, came knocking at his door to ask for his help to find a house where a party was organized, and they were invited to during a rainstorm.
The duo claimed their phone wasn’t working, and Evans invited them in to dry off and use their internet to find the house they were looking for. As the girls dry themselves off, they begin to flirt with Evans as he orders an Uber for the girls. The duo disappeared into Evans’s bathroom when the driver arrived to pick them up. When Evans goes to the bathroom to ask the girls to leave, they begin to force themselves on him, and Evans gives up in the end and has a threesome with the pair.
The next morning Evans discovers his wife’s sculpture has been destroyed, and he threatens the girls to get lost. Vivian stops by Evans’s house to see if he needs some help but leaves angrily after she sees Genesis in the house. The pair of girls agree to go home after Evans threatens them to call the police and report a break-in. As the film moves forward, Evans cleans the mess after the woman leaves, but he is knocked out by Genesis. Bel role-plays as a school girl to arouse Evans, who initially refuses but relents after the duo blackmails him by telling him they will video call.
The pair tie Evans to his bed, and Bel rapes him while Genesis records it. Louis arrives to collect the sculpture, and he tries to help Evans after seeing his situation. Louis tries to stop the girls but has an asthma attack and dies after slipping on a piece of sculpture. After the girls torment Evans throughout the movie, it ends with him being buried by the girls in his backyard.
