Esaret – Story Synopsis
In Esaret, we get to see how a rich and arrogant Orhun has two sisters, Nurşah, the younger sister, and Nihan, his twin sister. He goes crazy with his hunger for revenge when he comes to find how Nihan, who went to Africa to provide medical service as a doctor, ends up missing and then turns up dead. The noble, sophisticated Demirhanli family’s heir comes to Africa to find the culprits who wronged his twin sister and encounters a beautiful slave girl named Hira, who is somehow connected to Orhun’s sister’s death conspiracy but is actually a victim herself. The poor girl got caught by human traffickers and became enslaved for a better part of her life.
Orhun escapes with Hira and brings her to his home, much to the discontent of his mother, Afife, a conceited, selfish woman who pretentiously puts on air but is vile and owns a heart of a snake. Orhun may have rescued Hira from one prison, but only to trap her in a second cage of gold. The sinless Hira meekly accepts all the curveballs fate throws at her and tries her best to survive.
In the treacherous environment, somehow, sprouts of love start to form between Orhun and Hira through their constant interactions. Hira’s consistent, honest and, straightforward, kind nature pleasantly surprises Orhun, who finds himself drawn to the mysterious beauty. Orhun’s mental state, which is already through the tough phase with the remorse of his sister’s untimely departure still being fresh, is sent spiraling down further when his mother discloses a long-kept secret about the reason behind his father’s death. Orhun is unable to accept this lie of his mother and in his reckless attempt to spite her, marries Hira.
Esaret continues to show the evolution of Hira and Orhun’s relationship and the contribution of the complex characters around them.
