Get ready to witness a new set of Dutch and Flemish singles returning with another season of Ex On The Beach: Double Dutch. Following a similar format to its British counterpart, the show will be taking the singles back to the tropical island, where they’ll be exploring new relationships while also being unexpectedly visited by one of their exes.
The British version of the MTV reality show was seen on the streaming platform in 2014, and the Double Dutch version premiered on August 28th, 2016. This drama-filled Netherland adaptation of Ex On The Beach features singles originating from both Belgium and Netherlands. With the spin-off receiving just as enough attention as the main reality show, MTV has been releasing new seasons of Double Dutch each year, and the latest season 9 premiered on May 14th, 2023.
Season 9’s Island is located in Gran Canaria, which was also featured in the last few installments. Although this year’s Ex On The Beach has just started, the singles have already decided on their targets and are willing to go to any lengths to make their dream relationships happen. Since the season has just begun, the twist it’s supposed to have hasn’t been revealed yet. We can either see the exes have more power, have more exes showing up throughout the stay, or have extra contestants wash up on the beach.
Ex On The Beach Double Dutch: What Happened In Season 8?
The previous season began airing on June 12th, 2022 and ended with almost ten episodes. The former contestants, Jennfier, Joao, Luca, Nick, Lynn, Tcheutche, and Stevie, had come to the island in hopes of finding a new relationship. Compared to the current season, season 8 of Double Dutch had relatively older cast members. The 8th season’s premiere was announced by MTV through media on April 14th, 2022, and fans were glad to see the show make a return for another season.
The originals of season 8 were Joyce, Luca, Nick, Stevie, Tcheutche, João, and Jennifer. The twist seen in the season was nothing new within the reality show. It involved giving the exes that came into the game an extra power that would allow them to have superiority over the originals of the show.
During the filming, Joyce had to be sent home after she was diagnosed with Covid-19. She later returned after testing negative, but season 8 still stands as the installment with the most number of singles being sent home and then returning to the show eventually.
Ex On The Beach Double Dutch: Season 9’s Contestants
This season, four men and four women will be heading over to their romantic vacation in one of the most beautiful places the show has featured yet. Despite the luxury and options available for choosing, these cast members aren’t aware of when they’ll be suddenly facing one of their exes on the island. The Cast includes Dylan (22), Ellen (20), Georgina (20), Janey (20), Joey( 25), Jonna (28), Marc Junior (20), and Michelle (20).
While each comes looking for their kind of partner, some of the cast members are in the game for just the entertainment, while some are serious and hope to find their soulmates through Ex On The Beach. Through emotional confrontations and shocking revelations, these people have to face all kinds of relationship destroyers when they meet their ex in front of the rest of the Cast.
