Breilla and Lucas lay awake on the bed in awkward silence. Thinking that Lucas might be uncomfortable with sleeping with her in the same bed, Breilla offers to shift to go over to the sofa as Lucas. But Lucas grabs her wrist and tells her to stay as he is not uncomfortable at all. Breilla feels glad that he doesn’t find this unpleasant, and due to the newfound feeling of relief, she drifts to sleep.

Lucas tries to talk to Breilla but finds her asleep; he is dumbfounded at how she could fall asleep in such a situation. He is embarrassed to be the only one to get all nervous but dismisses the thoughts thinking that whatever happened was for the best. But suddenly, the sleeping Breilla cuddles near him.

In that situation, Lucas’s mind went blank. Breilla’s real identity was unknown, but she seemed to make him remember his ex-fiancee Olivia. He has a hunch that he will be in trouble if he falls for her, but he can’t stop looking at her. Also, a while ago, he had asked Varan if Breilla looked like someone, but he had said not to say it in front of Breilla as women hate when they are compared with others. Due to this, he was feeling guilty and knew he couldn’t continue like this forever and had to decide sooner or later.

The next day, before the hunting competition commences, the Emperor delivers a speech where he basically tells all the nobles to offer their game to his mistress, Eve. Breilla is put off by this farce and finds it infuriating; she looks up at Lucas, who hasn’t said a word since last night, and tells him that she doesn’t want him to hunt anything and would be happy as long as he returns safely. Lucas smiles, telling her he is relieved to know he doesn’t need to take lives to please her, and departs.

As the chapter ends, we see Marquess Hailey (Olivia’s father) and the Emperor plotting something.
