Destiny II is a fan favorite game by many. They have been releasing new seasons for Destiny II for a long time now. How long is Season 20 going to last?
Back in the days when Destiny II was first released that time there used to be only three seasons per year, and at that time, there was no reliable source to predict the durations. Not only was it hard to predict the durations of the seasons and for how long they would last was unpredictable too.
In the third year, Bungie Inc. announced the fact that there were going to be four seasons every year. And they also made it a standard tenure that every season lasts only ten weeks.
Bungie Inc. gives you the flexibility that many developers do not give to players, that being, if the players do not wish to purchase all four seasons, which is an entire year’s season, then you can purchase an individual season.
Destiny II Season 20 was released on 28th February 2023, and looking at the trends of the previous seasons and the announcement made by Bungie Inc. in the third year. It can be said that Destiny II Season 20 will wrap up by 22nd May 2023. This has also been released on Bungie Inc.’s official website.
The previous trends mentioned above are that the Season of The Haunted was released on 24th May 2022 and ended on 23rd August 2022, Season of Plunder was released on 23rd August 2022 and ended on 6th December 2022.
If the same trends are followed, then we can say that Season 1 for the year 2023 was released on 6th December 2022 and ended on 28th February 2023. By the way, the season’s name was Season of the Seraph. The current season named Season Of Defiance, was released on 28th February 2023 and will conclude on 22nd May 2023.
Things to do before Season 20 ends
As mentioned earlier, Destiny 2: Season 20 has ended on 22nd May 2023. So, before this season ends, you definitely must do the following things:
- You must claim any seasonal titles that you might have achieved while playing the game.
- You must redeem any specific rewards or claim weapons that are season specific.
- Complete bounties, max out weapons, and everything else that is relevant. Doing this would give you a headstart for the next season.
- You could try reaching the Legend rank in the game in any mode.
- Last but not least, you should redeem season pass awards if there are any.
There have been talks that there might be some delay in the release of Season 3 due to the change. It is not yet confirmed, but Bungie Inc. published a post saying that there might be a delay. The delay is not yet confirmed, so there is a big chance that it might be released on 22nd May 2023.
